In the mid-80's ShowBiz Pizza Place and Chuck E. Cheese merged and in the early 90's they decided to convert the ShowBiz Pizza locations to Chuck E. Cheese's and convert The Rock-Afire Explosion characters to Chuck E. Cheese characters.
They called it "Concept Unification". This is the training video they sent to stores to help them do the conversion of the characters:
They turned something that was really cool and creative into something that was way more watered-down.

During Concept Unification, Showbiz produced a show that featured Rolfe and Earle showing a highlight reel of past Rock Afire shows while previewing what was coming soon.

The guy who did the voice of the gorilla actually became part of a talk radio show here in Central Florida that was insanely popular for several years. He went by the name Bubba "Whoopass" Wilson (real name Burt Wilson.) His musical background led to putting out quite a few albums featuring mostly comedy songs but some straight stuff too. They started putting on concerts and even sold out the Hard Rock Live in Orlando a bunch of times. He had a bit of a problem with pills and left the show to go into rehab. From the best of my knowledge he's clean now and still does small shows all over the state.
Probably his biggest "hit"
One of his "real" songs that he put out after leaving the show

...and then came the Bite of '83.... What was the Bite of '83? Was it anything like the Bite of '93?
