Glenn Close has won Best Actress in a Motion Picture - Drama for THE WIFE.
And, in saying it out loud, I just said "THE WIFE" in a Borat voice.

Lady Gaga, Mark Ronson, Anthony Rossomando, and Andrew Wyatt have won Best Original Song for "Shallow" in A STAR IS BORN. "Shallow" is an amazing song too. Totally deserved. I think Lady Gaga should've won a Golden Globe for her performance too. I imagine she'll win the Academy Award though.

I'm 65% sure that when Sandra Oh made the joke about "Ghost in the Shell" during the "Crazy Rich Asians" bit Scarlett Johansson shouted "I'M SORRY!"

Rami Malek has won Best Actor in a Motion Picture - Drama for looking like Pete Davidson...er, uh, BOHEMIAN RHAPSODY. Hey he deserved it just for the Live Aid performance part of the film alone. He'll most likely win Best Actor in the Academy Awards too which is very deserved too. I am just hoping Bradley Cooper and Lady Gaga win something for "A Star Is Born" at the Academy Awards.

Glad to see Richard Madden win for Bodyguard, that show was f***ing awesome. And Olivia Colman too. She’s surely the favourite for the Oscar (no pun intended) and it’s about time Hollywood realised what us Brits have known for years, that she’s one of the finest actors working today. Bohemian Rhapsody Best Film? I enjoyed it but it’s not the best film. Not even close.

I was really happy that Into The Spider-Verse won for Best Animated Feature over the usual Pixar and Disney Animation suspects. Though Isle of Dogs would've been a neat choice, too.

Spider-Verse getting love is cool to see tho. I liked Green Book but I was rooting for Crazy Rich Asians to take that award.

I saw her name trending on Twitter and was wondering where I knew her name from, before remembering she was PC Doris Thatcher in Hot Fuzz. In hindsight, it's insane how good that cast was.

Well Spidey of course loosely has that Disney connection (unless it's the Holland version, of course) I did mark for the double shot of Rhapsody winning. Yeah it wasn't historically perfect, but still very good. As far as Black Panther, live action comic movies aren't always taken seriously at awards shows. Wonder if ASIB (didn't see it yet, heard good things) had remake stink on it?

I think it was a longshot at best for Black Panther to win any awards, but just being nominated is a big deal. It means Hollywood award voters are starting to see genuinely good comic book movies as being worthy of their high standards. Granted, the Globes have tended to be a lot less stuck-up about such things than the Oscars. Guess we'll see which movies get nominated by the Academy.

I think Lady Gaga should've won a Golden Globe for her performance too. I imagine she'll win the Academy Award though. The song has one good part. It's a really good part. But the rest of it is just them lazily going, "In the sha-la-la-la-lows. In the sha-la-la-la-lows. We're far from the shallows now." Now yes, the "OHHHAAAAAAAAOHWAAAAAOH HUUUUUUUH OHHHHHHHH HOWOHOWOHOWOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!" and ensuing belting is awesome. But while that one part of it is amazing, the rest of it brings it down to above average.

SPIDER-VERSE was Sony doing its own thing, Disney partnership be damned.
