I think Konami leans more to the stupid than evil. Honestly, it's just that they don't care anymore and make most of their money through other things now. Still, it stupid to fire the best team you have, that mad your best game and then try to make that mess of a sequel. Either stop completely with non-casino games or actually think when making it.

I never heard anything, but that was probably because it wasn’t a “shoot reaction”. I know it fits narratives, but isn’t it just as possible that Punk, a wiseass snarky babyface, was directed to react like that to a scripted promo putting over a delusional heel that he was just starting to feud with at that time? That would make it a genius moment to me. And my brain has been polluted with WWE's ability to fumble their way into genius moments and their terrible execution of bad ideas that are the bread of what could have been good idea sandwhiches that. Like good promos with bad matches or great matches with a terrible build. Ever now and then the build and the matches are equally good. The bad moments sometimes lead into funny stuff, but it's normally due to how wrestling community responds to it in like places like this with our collective creative insanity which we have conditioned ourselves with. Like the MS Paint thread. Whether a well executed moment or terrible segment, that thread will make it awesome in the end. Think about not being on social media at all while things like this happens. You'd be left with your own take of the situation or how they frame what they want you to take from it. It'd be like a two clocks that get out of sync if not monitored because one runs normally and the other sporadically changes how many seconds determines a minute. You may never get the validation you need to get a sense of fulfilment. What makes me question if something was deliberate or not is the overall outcome. Or even what was the desired outcome. Our sensors were dirtied after Kevin Nash and Punks wanting to wear HHH's jacket. Punks placement and reaction in that gif could have been mere coincidence. And his reaction represents a certain audience's main frustration. And Punk's character represents what the company would rather not worry about all if they could avoid it. A visual and vocal representation of of what some viewers really feel. It could question the company's competency to the uniformed viewer. We won't even mention the commentary. All of that can present the question of are we entitled to feel that way. We are essentially patrons at a carnival, not quality control like they try to sell to new viewers. Them, "How can we improve our theme park?" Us, "Make the game with the good prizes winnable." Them, "Sure, pal." They wouldn't let a customer stand there and point out how much a game is rigged unless he was a plant that would somewhat lead you to believe that there was indeed a way to win. That would be deviously genius. Not like how they had Seth had complain to his TGIFriday's server about his customer service in front of a crowd to get a pop, then he turns around and gets on social media and tell us how hard it is to work in the customer service field. This came from the guy who was one if the ones carrying the company during the "Leeesssner Eeeera"/HHH voice. But the more you look at that gif you see small reactions on everyone's face. This supports you post. But in hindsight, they all would have their own reasons to react that way. I've had reactions like that a my job during meetings due to the absurdity if some of the stuff being said by delusion people. This is truly a captivating scene to discuss. A question of perception vs reality in a world works, shoots, and working yourself into a shoot of such brother dudery that It's a mindf***. A truley Emmy Award winning scene that would require a lot of heavy lifting by a dedicated viewer! But we are also talking about a guy who went out the way he did, got pettilly officially fired on his wedding, sued the company, and what transpired with him and Colt. It’s an utterly fascinating scene to study... I mean, you don’t even mention the stuff with Bryan and how the crowd was losing their shit for him just standing there, to the point where I swear they were two seconds away from breaking and going “Can you just let us do our damn promo so we can finish the show and we can all go home?”.

^^^ Exactly. A truly polarizing moment. And add Mark Henry trying to deflect and control the situation.

I don't man. I feel like everything Stephanie says in interview these days is either in character or she's going full in with the PR stunt rather than being genuine. The only genuine moments I feel we get from her these days is when she might cry in the ring or when she's doing backstage off camera stuff with Triple H, also video and pics with her family.

"I'm doing my job in the ring: I'm portraying the villain and setting the stage for our heroes to rise up and overcome the adversity I so eagerly put in their paths." You know that part about the heroes rising up and overcoming the adversity? You might want to work on that a bit more. How much of that is her and how much of that is her dad's decision? Well, given how often Vince was willing to play the fool on camera...

Vince virtually never got the upper hand when he was on TV and if he did it was to eventually get his comeuppance. Also Stephanie is so deluded it would be comical if I didn’t think she really means it.

They are so tone deaf to their importance (or lack thereof) as on screen characters. Nobody wants to watch Stephanie play any part on TV. They have a roster full of wrestlers to execute everything she describes.

How much of that is her and how much of that is her dad's decision? Well, given how often Vince was willing to play the fool on camera... Yeah, Vince was, no joke, an idiot on TV when he was around. His schemes to get Austin slowly but surely got more and more Wile E. Coyote-esque. That was basically the act. He was a billionaire who saw himself infinitely smarter than he actually was and, as a result, most of his schemes failed.

Is there some context for this article? I'm not clear on WHY she wrote it. It just feels like a bunch of faux-insight that nobody actually asked for.

He was a billionaire who saw himself infinitely smarter than he actually was and, as a result, most of his schemes failed. It's why I always pop for Vince every time he shows up on screen, even now. I genuinely believe that entirely independent of his ownership & booking of WWE, even if someone else had been in charge all those years, Mr McMahon the character is a 1st ballot Hall of Famer. He was a brilliant performer who always got the people he was with over, and even some things I hated at the time, like ECW Champ Vince, I look back and I love. Bischoff may have just beaten him to the punch on the evil authority figure gimmick, but everyone has tried to imitate Vince since- Russo, Dixie, HHH, Stephanie, Bischoff 2nd time round, every Raw GM, a bunch of SD GMs- and none have come close. Stephanie may be his daughter, but she doesn't take much after him at all.
