That was Vince gasping at straws and admitting that Ted Turner was his daddy. He complained about the same thing he did to the old promoters. It’s a rule that if you’re number one, you never acknowledge or mock the competition, but if you’re number two you call them out because you’re desperate. I've heard of that rule and I do see it flaunted. Sony mentioned Nintendo and xbox during the PS2 years, new coke was a clear response to pepsis taste test and supermarkets also do this a lot also, price comparisons are quite common. Even McDonald's mentioned Burger King i think over the new fries advert

Unfunny in every way, but here's something that happened 'round my house that's related....... whenever these skits would come on, I'd switch over to WCW. (I did that a lot back in 1995-96) Now that's funny, huh?

I first heard about them on the Monday Night War Dvd and thought they looked petty and ridiculous, and really, they were a waste of the company's air time and resources.

I didnt like it because I was a Macho fan, and WCW had just been picked up in the UK in April 1996 so I was getting to watch it for the first time. However being a WWF loyalist I kind of rolled with it.

It's crazy to think that when they were portraying Hogan as ancient, he was 43 at the time, just two years older than Cena is now.
R Truth, HHH, Kane, Shawn Michaels, and the Undertaker are 46, 49, 51, and 53.

He was born an old ass man and could pass for 30 without question right now.

Hell, even when Bret Hart hit 40 in 1997, there were moments when people would make fun of his age.

I was 9 at the time and remember finding them dumb. If all goes well then we might see a Billionaire Tony skit in 5yrs. With the American Snore Cody Stardust (in polka dots) and his sidekicks, the Buck-Toothed Youths, who are incapable of speech beyond shouting "Shawn Michaels" between randomly superkicking themselves and anyone else around them. And the promotion they have will be called EEW as well

Vince cried like a bitch and tried to mock wcw when they were owning him, but when the tide turned, he stopped mentioning them when he was number one again.

I thought they were petty. And they were feeding a fed horse. Why should I care about corporate warfare?

I thought they were stupid when they aired. I thought they were pathetic when I saw them again during my watch of 1996 on the Network.

Watch those skits and then watch that awful ass DX versus BOD match from “Brown” Jewel last year. Oh how things have changed. Those 4 made Macho and Hogan look like spring chickens in comparison. It’s amazing seeing WWE repeat all the things they make fun of WCW for.

(I did that a lot back in 1995-96) Now that's funny, huh? I had stopped watching WCW back in the day, I didn't even remember them(I don't recall on what channel they were in Canada pre-TSN). And when I saw those skits it not only made me remember WCW and i had no idea Hulk and Macho were there. But really it was desperate by Vince but it was nothing too insulting. I love that Scott Hall brought those words back when he invaded "where is the Nacho Man, where is Skeem Gene?".

That's true, although I do remember some of his wrestlers mentioning them, such as the rock going through several catchphrases

I hated them when they aired and still hate them now. I thought it was bad when WCW would give away the results of the taped Raws. And Vince had to top them in bad taste. And I don't find it surprising at all how both companies started having more success when they stopped focusing on attacking their competition and looked at improving their own product.
