This is good. I've been wanting WWF Superstars to be added to the Network.

Ecstatic! Superstars is really what we’ve all been waiting for. Sadly, 86-92 is tied up in legal, but hopefully we will get there eventually. In the meantime, let it begin with what we can!

I've wanted to see the episode where Nailz beatdown Big Bossman for what felt like an eternity since I was a kid, he scared the s*** out of me.

When in 1992 did they drop the "of wrestling" from the title. That could be why they are starting at this random time.
Personally I am hoping we get some 1992 Primetime.

Does anyone know the actual sticking point with whoever owns the “of Wrestling” trademark? Is it one of those occasions where Vince could easily write them a cheque for a couple of million and be allowed to use their old footage but he won’t do that because he’s Vince McMahon Dammit? Or is it more than that?

Well no Ventura, but we get some Perfect greatness. Also good news, we skip the Piper and Savage era.

Or is it more than that? Basically, this guy, Albert Patterson, first trademarked the phrase decades ago and has taken legal action against WWE and even Good Humor over it. The name change in 1992 happened because of him and the censorship of the name beginning around 2006 is also a result of it.

So don't expect the 86-92 Episodes anytime soon
@wwenetworkchron
Unfortunately, it isn't that simple. There are multiple claims to the name "Superstars of Wrestling". They actually started before - and partially caused - the name change. From what we've been told, the situation is in the "wait until they're dead" column.

How about Wrestling Challenge? It shouldn't be tied up in any legal battles. Plus it's got Monsoon and Heenan, which means even if the matches are terrible it's still entertaining.
At any rate, I am glad we're getting some Superstars on the network. Been waiting for that since it began.

The local affiliate was moving Superstars all over the place on their schedule, and I think I only got to see one episode that was taped there. It’ll be a blast to see those (assuming they continue past December 1992).

The Savage/Luger dark match from that taping is on the Randy Savage Unreleased DVD set.
