Making a guess that like Fast and Fierce and Top Gunner before it that we'll see the Asylum mockbuster of MI:7 before the real deal (probably based on that 1980s computer game Impossible Mission)

He'll be just shy of 60 years old then. That's wild.

He'll be just shy of 60 years old then. That's wild. I did wonder why so much of the action in the last one was him either running after someone or using guns. Even during the one big hand to hand fight they've got Henry Cavill there to help carry the load. Cruise doesn't look his age but I think it is catching up with him physically.

So we can rest assured it will have scenes of Tom Cruise running towards and/or away from things.

Looks excellent. The consistency of these movies is commendable.

With the whole "Part 1" and "Part 2" thing, I think this might be the last hurrah for Tom in these movies. He'll be 60 by the time this comes out next year and then presumably 61-62 when they release part 2.

I could potentially see them handing off to some of the newer cast, to see if the M:I IP has any life beyond Cruise. That said, Cruise is an absolute machine, and if Stallone and Schwarzenegger can keep making action movies in their 70s I don't see why Cruise couldn't go for a few more years.

The trailer looks great. THe Mission Impossible franchise has become pure action cinema at it's finest which I will always happily watch.

They've had him doing a lot less close quarters stuff in the last couple films. He doesn't look it but I think he has lost a step or two. If they want him to still be involved in potential future installments, maybe have Ethan Hunt transition to a leadership role and bring in some rising star to do the heavy lifting.

When the first MI movie came out, people wondered why original series star Peter Graves wasn't involved (He would later say he turned down the role due to his character twist) From '67-'90, Peter Graves was Mission: Impossible. Since '96, Tom Cruise has been Mission: Impossible. And Cruise is currently older than Graves was when he last played the role. The MI series can continue without Cruise, like it continued without Graves. Just need to find the right actor to fill those shoes.
