So , no Tony . Does it mean he dies in edgame ? I mean, it's Spider-Man. He doesn't need Iron Man in his movies. true , but considering how big a role he played in homecoming and the fact that Tony recruited and mentored Peter - kinda gives an indication that hes gone

I honestly don't believe we're ever going to get an adult Peter on the big screen(Not counting Spider-Verse). Closest we got live action wise is Tobey Maguire's version where Peter is in college. Marvel want to continue using Holland for at least another three or four movies after the current agreement with Sony is up, of which at least a couple would have to be solo movies, since those are the ones Sony makes money from. Holland will be pushing 30 by the time those are done, so I'd expect at least one of those will be adult Peter. I was just reading that Tom Holland said he's signed on for three Spider-Man films and three solo films. Kind of weird wording since the Spider-Man films are solo unless he's talking about those ensemble ones like Civil War, Avengers, etc.

The big worry for me, however is, that this has no chance of topping Spider-Verse.

The agreement is three solo movies, and three ensemble movies, and obviously the latter part of the agreement has been fulfilled. Kevin Feige has spoken about Spider-Man being the focal character for the next two or three phases of the MCU. Makes sense - both the character and the actor are young enough that they could easily get another 10-12 years of stories, including a team up and eventual passing of the torch to Miles Morales.

Looks like more of the same from Homecoming. Which for those who enjoyed that, good for ya I guess, probably what you're wanting but... Man, that movie just felt like it was never going to freaking end for me. I'm probably skipping this one as a result. Also more and more I think Holland is my least favorite Spider-Man (and that's saying something given I don't exactly have a high opinion of Maguire). He just... the more I see of him the more he annoys me. He comes off as such a pathetic whining doofus even when he's supposed to be badass or happy. The man has one acting technique and it's baby voice. To be fair, Spider-Man is still a kid so Holland having a baby voice makes sense. He's perfect for the role since as I said Peter is still a kid at this point. It'd make no sense for a fifteen year old who is still starting out to be happy and badass. Peter overall is nerdy, awkward, and shy in general it's only when he puts on the costume that he gets confidence and he uses the "confidence" because he's scared. Now me on the other hand I've always wanted to see a Spider-Man film where he's still a kid. The storylines of him juggling his high school and superhero life always intrigued me. I never felt we actually got anything remotely close to it and the potential is there for some amazing stories. We shall see how they progress Holland's Peter in this film and in the next sequel. Apparently in this trilogy the plan was to have Homecoming be Peter's Freshman Year, I imagine there's a time skip involved because the third sequel is supposed to be Peter's Senior Year. I want to see more growth. I get it, they’re focusing on him in high school. And I loved Ultimate Spider-Man but a part of the appeal wasn’t just soaking in that youth but actually seeing the struggle into maturing into this role. Homecoming had snippets of that. I want more of that.

I think we're all used to seeing adult Spider-Men in other-media, until Spectacular came along and now this. It's kind of like how Burt Ward (and Casey Kasem, then Loren Lester) seemed to make Robin more adult, even though it wasn't always the intention. We forget that he was intended to be DICK GRAYSON, AGE 12, originally.

There’s what, him, Billy Batson, and a couple X-Men for teenage comic characters in current movies? I mean hell, even the Teen Titans show is a bunch of people in their 20’s. And you can’t really show that to kids. Guess there’s Kickass, can’t really show that to kids either

Ditko I think said once that he thought Peter should only be an adolescent. At least I read somewhere he did.
To be fair, I asked him about it and he was pretty non-commital, only saying that a character's age etc was solely up to the creators and not the whiners (his word) that tried to have a say in it.
Brilliant artist, but of a curmudgeon. Cordial though.

I was skeptical when the news first broke, I'm still a little about Jake playing him and nailing it, but this trailer has me feeling a way few things achieve by having one of my favorite Spider-man villains in the flesh for the first time proper. Big, dumb fish bowl and all.
Michelle still needs work though as a character. Oof.

Sidenote, according to Variety it was Sony not Marvel who made the call to release the trailer. Marvel wanted to wait until after Endgame. Which, would’ve been fine. You could only release a title card, and a Marvel Movie is gonna make $200 mil or more domestically

And so it begins... {Spoiler}Some of the more reputable movie bloggers have heard rumours that Deadpool could make a post-credit cameo appearance in the movie, depending on how quickly a contract with Ryan Reynolds can be worked out.

I don't think it'll take very long. Knowing him he'd likely do it for free

The more likely issue would be getting Holland scheduled, since I imagine they'd want to do some kind of interaction between the two.

{Spoiler}Shame Peter is still a kid in this one because one of my favorite comic interactions was Deadpool hitting on Spider-man. Which would be pretty damn creepy with the MCU Peter.

Reynolds: "I read it, is that necessary for it to be in there?" Disney exec: "Yes. Cumberbatch can only watch one at a time. We have to stop Tom and Mark from leaking all the spoilers, and we feel it would be best if 2 of you were babysitting them."

Gotta say, if this particular rumor pans out it massively increases the odds of me seeing this.

I don’t think THAT rumor pans out but there’s other rumors that the next MCU big bad will be introduced in a post credits scene... {Spoiler}...with Mysterio meeting with all of the villains introduced thus far in the former Stark Tower...now owned by Oscorp...and they’re met by a mysterious benefactor who’s obviously some guy that owns the place. Some Green guy who’s not the Hulk. One of the bad guys in Ant-Man and the Wasp said they were working for a benefactor so they may have been planting these seeds for a while.
Also...gives them a reason to do Dark Avengers...looks like they still want their Sinister Six...rumor is that no Deadpool in Spidey 3, but Venom will finally make his MCU debut proper to backup Spidey.

{Spoiler} had he not played the Vulture, Michael Keaton would have made a great Norman Osborn. Think his Ray Kroc, on steroids. Or Goblin Serum. And who wants to bet said serum in the MCU is made into a spinoff of the Super Soldier Serum?
So we're back to the Green Goblin. Well at least this continuity is building up to that and didn't blow their load at the start.
