Watching the trailer I feel like none of the Ghostbusters could have teenage grandchildren. None of them were parents in 89 which is when Ghostbuster 2 took place. And let's just says the "grandfather" is Peter because he married Dana and became Oscar's stepdad. Oscar would be 32 now. So to have a teenage kid he would have been 19 at the oldest when he became a dad. Which is possible I guess. But I'm interested in seeing how this all fits in Footage of Casey Jones (AKA MrThrowback) bring this up during the script writing stage.

But I'm interested in seeing how this all fits in The trailer tells us the grandfather is Egon, and there's nothing in the first two movies that contradicts the possibility he may have fathered a child prior to becoming a Ghostbuster or even his employment at Colombia University. The actress playing the mom was born in 1981, so that would line up.

Yeah, I mean they show Egon's slimes, molds, and fungus collection before pulling the "Spengler" jacket out of the closet.

Yeah, I mean they show Egon's slimes, molds, and fungus collection before pulling the "Spengler" jacket out of the closet. Plus the fact that the mom was "left" the house, which with Harold Ramis being dead and the other three Ghostbusters being confirmed to appear in the movie narrows things down a whole heck of a lot.

Maybe Peter was right in that he slept with the mood slime in GB2.

I know that Egon is the grandfather. I just never thought of him as having kids. I suppose there is the possibility that he threw himself into science while neglecting his family. But that doesn't seem to be in his personality. Or maybe he just didn't know about the kid. The mother being born in 81 is something I missed. Either way, I'm going to watch and love this movie

Gives me a Gremlins vibe. And while we can argue they are cashing in on Baby Groot this would have been done before the world knew about Baby Yoda right?

Would Stay Puft still be using the marshmallow man as their mascot after what happened in 1984?

Would Stay Puft still be using the marshmallow man as their mascot after what happened in 1984? After what happened they probably replaced him with a talking raccoon or something, it lasted for a bit, their stocks drop, the brand got sold from one corporation to another to another, but finally the brand wasn't selling enough and whatever company owned it at the time declared bankruptcy. Fast forward a couple of year, some new company bought it at a fire sale, nostalgia is king and the Stay Puft Marshmallow Man returns to store shelves, on a limited basis at first of course, but eventually found in every supermarket, Wal Mart and Target nationwide.

It's been a while since I've watched it ... but I think GB 2 made it sound like it was mostly waved off as some sort of mass hallucination or trick by teh Ghostbusters.
Since actual Ghost Activity plummeted post Gozer.

Would Stay Puft still be using the marshmallow man as their mascot after what happened in 1984? The Stay Puft Company made it very clear that they unswervingly condemned the actions of Gozer during the 1984 Central Park West supradimensional incident, and in no way did it reflect the core values of Stay Puft marshmellows,
