On the subject of Ghostbusters, do you think the film got Rick Moranis typecast as a nerd? Save for Dark Helmet, almost every major role he had after that was as a glasses-wearing nerd. Well, he did play Diane Lane's boyfriend/manager in Streets of Fire and he was more like a snooty douchebag in that film. That was a little different. I guess you could say him as Barney Rubble was different, too.

I'll always remember Rick Moranis from Strange Brew

Another interesting tidbit, Rick Moranis was originally considered for the lead role in Tales From The Crypt season 3 episode Loved To Death which went to Andrew McCarthy from Mannequin. If he was cast he cast he’d probably be nerdier since the plot is about a down on his luck dude rejected by this woman until he slips a love potion, similar to that one episode of the Twilight Zone. And if he did appear he’d be another cast member of Ghostbusters to appear in Tales From The Crypt after Dan Ackroyd, Ernie Hudson, William Atherton, Peter MacNicol and Reginald Veljohnson(he cameoed as a cop in GB).

Leslie Jones is embarassing herself on Twitter over this. She needs to accept she was simply in a shitty film which should be correctly ignored by any new GB movie.

If that dummy had just tweeted something like "They're making another Ghostbusters movie! Bustin' makes me feel good!" and left the politics out of it, she probably would have been offered at least a cameo in the film. She's such an idiot.

There is literally NOTHING known about it beyond it’s a sequel to 2 and ignores Answer the Call. No cast, no synopsis, nothing and she’s throwing a complete tantrum on Twitter bitching at Reitman and tagging McCarthy in it. It’s almost like she openly wants to start a war against GB 3 like what happened to the 2016 one. Bitching about an all male cast, when no cast has been announced. I’ve heard rumours of the new ones being men and women

I like how we only got a 5 sec trailer for this movie so far and it already being called sexist. Off topic, one of my co worker bought up the idea of having the baby from the second movie grow up and became a ghostbuster himself.

I can understand being a little upset over your contribution to the franchise being swept aside, especially after all the crap it got, but it's best done in private. I didn't hate the reboot, it was funny in places but not particularly great overall, I can see why they wouldn't want more of the same.

Also, it'll probably have Sigourney Weaver who is one of the most badass women ever.

Leslie Jones was the prime target for coordinated racist and sexist attacks during the lead-up to the Ghostbusters reboot. Her personal website was hacked to reveal her personal information as well as memes comparing her to Harambe, the gorilla killed at an Ohio zoo. She 100% has the right to have this "What the f***" reaction to this new film, as it's essentially saying to her "Hey, remember the film that turned your life into a waking hell? LOL, we're making a 'real' reboot now!" This isn't Rob Zombie getting salty about his Halloween movies not being canon, this is someone who had her life ripped apart for a few months by insecure pieces of shit getting those things opened up.
But considering the reaction to her reaction even here, the wonderfully tolerant messageboard, has been to dismiss her feelings and call her names, I'd imagine that's only going to be amplified on the Internet at large.

The abuse she got, which was completely disgusting, is a separate issue to her petulant behaviour now on Twitter, and the subsequent criticism she's receiving.

I’m sorry, she got a really shitty break being in that last movie. Doesn’t make it right for her to attempt to start the same sort of movement against Jason Reitman and this movie. She’s making inflammatory, false statements to try and get people mad that this movie is being made. 2 wrongs don’t make a right EDIT: Like, we can’t even post the Tweets here due to her comparison between Reitman and a political figure. If that’s not intended to try and rile people up, I don’t know what is. She’s using her terrible experience as an excuse to attempt to start the same line in the sand attacks on this movie. She’s legit one step away from saying “If you support this movie, you hate women!!!”

She's ignoring the fact that the film she was in lost money when you factor in the advertising budget. I'm sorry she went through hell, but that is the main reason this is happening. She has a right to be mad, she was treated badly by the internet and Sony, but flipping out on twitter isn't the way to handle this.

For f***'s sake the first one isn't even that good.
I'm going to go out on a limb and say this will be an unpopular opinion.

And to think, this could be all avoided if Sony didn't have this weird obsession to created their own cinematic universe.

I heard about 18 months ago that a new Ghostbusters cartoon was in development. Maybe if this movie does well enough we'll see that happen? In the meantime can they please release the complete run of Extreme Ghostbusters on DVD?

I want Ernie Hudson in it, but I want him playing his character from Congo instead.
