I feel like Mike Kanellis is that neighbor who's always trying to talk to you about the weather. He's Mike Trout? Mike "New Subway Spokesman" Kanellis.

Mike Kanelis is like Chris Masters, a victim of management's attitude toward the wellness program. 'Hey guys, if you have problems with pills, we have free rehab to help, just don't expect any sort of push once you return if you take us up on it.' Fair dues, he at least got it better than Masters did, and wasn't openly mocked on tv for getting clean. <iframe style="position: absolute; width: 22.480000000000018px; height: 3.240000000000009px; z-index: -9999; border-style: none;left: 15px; top: -5px;" id="MoatPxIOPT0_85535732" scrolling="no" width="22.480000000000018" height="3.240000000000009"></iframe> <iframe style="position: absolute; width: 22.48px; height: 3.24px; z-index: -9999; border-style: none; left: 1065px; top: -5px;" id="MoatPxIOPT0_49144072" scrolling="no" width="22.480000000000018" height="3.240000000000009"></iframe> <iframe style="position: absolute; width: 22.48px; height: 3.24px; z-index: -9999; border-style: none; left: 15px; top: 102px;" id="MoatPxIOPT0_33947687" scrolling="no" width="22.480000000000018" height="3.240000000000009"></iframe> <iframe style="position: absolute; width: 22.48px; height: 3.24px; z-index: -9999; border-style: none; left: 1065px; top: 102px;" id="MoatPxIOPT0_45519728" scrolling="no" width="22.480000000000018" height="3.240000000000009"></iframe>

There is no reason for that to work as well as it did Only criticism is that the HERE'S TO THE GREATEST should have hit at the beat drop.

If you're offered a health benefit for working somewhere, you shouldn't have to fear demotion if you actually use it. As far as I can recall, two WWE main roster members have gone to rehab to fight an addiction that has killed people throughout the sport, both have received a depush so the message is clear that talent should just keep on living with their demons, taking as many pills as they like as long as they don't get caught without a prescription for some of the pllls, but not all, as the policy only tests for presence, not quantity.

I don't think that's the sensible read at all; the biggest reason for the depush is that he was brought in to be part of an act with his wife, who took a lot of time off for the baby she was pregnant with. I'd chalk all of that down to the fickleness of creative getting bored of an idea they were interested in a year earlier that got completely thrown off by bad timing--which is something that has happened a lot with people coming up and then getting injured or what have you--before chalking it up to some kind of weird spite thing that encourages people to keep their pill problems quiet and just keep loading up. Especially when the company is regularly paying for the rehab of former stars and then using them getting clean to lionize their legacies, as in Hall, Roberts, and Jarrett we've seen three people go into the Hall of Fame upon getting their lives sorted out.

Yeah Mike's depush came with Maria's pregnancy as the entire gimmick was dependent on both being there, and they certainly were not putting a pregnant Maria on that kind of road schedule. By the time she got back he was already out of rehab, and both have been featured on 205 live pretty consistently. Bad timing on injury (though that's an odd way of thinking of pregnancy) has sunk longer term and more over gimmicks than this.

But you're not owed a push for completing the program. WWE is a bloated ass place. Mike needed help, and he got it. That's a happy ending. Trying to turn this into a negative because he didn't get a push afterward isn't kosher. There is absolutely no message being sent by WWE to "live with demons". You're beyond reaching here.

And it's not like the whole gimmick of Mike "I Put Water in My Hot Chocolate" Bennett, who loves his wife very much, was going to be a huge act in the first place.

And hey it's possible that the real problem isn't even how Mike "Thunder by Imagine Dragons" Bennett is being treated, but that Maria was hoping she'd be back in the shuffle of the womens' division instead of only being a manager, and thus far she has only worked the battle royal at Evolution with no sign of being put onto either main show or even working a filler tag match. There's definitely a case to be made that there's no room for her in either division and her work wouldn't be up to the standards of today, but if she wants to work, that might be the real factor in wanting to push against this. Maria was passable in the late-2000s/early 2010s, but late 2000s/early 2010s passable puts you behind just about everyone in the division now. The time is going to better wrestlers now.

Well oops that was awkward, I realized I accidentally double-posted and moved to delete the post until someone else posted something, and then you responded to this. Crap. This is gonna look weird and time travel-ey but: "And hey it's possible that the real problem isn't even how Mike "Thunder by Imagine Dragons" Bennett is being treated, but that Maria was hoping she'd be back in the shuffle of the womens' division instead of only being a manager, and thus far she has only worked the battle royal at Evolution with no sign of being put onto either main show or even working a filler tag match. Anyway yeah she's definitely not going to find her place in WWE. But ROH and AEW would both defintiely welcome her and find a place for her to work, which could be a major motivating factor in them wanting to leave if it's clear WWE isn't going to.
