A few more hours on 1942-43. Frankenstein Meets the Wolf Man is leading by one vote, but Cat People could still take it. Want to tip those scales either way? Do so by clicking the link in the post above, and make your choice.

Frankenstein Meets the Wolf Man pulled it out over Cat People, and goes on to the next round. Now it's on to 1944-1945, and I have a feeling Universal might win another one, but I could be wrong. 1944-1945 Poll

Wow, I was wrong. The Monster Maker has crept up on the Universal Monsters, and has over taken them in the 1944-1945 poll. We still have a couple hours left, though, so, there's still a chance we might get another contender as our winner. Later tonight, I will end off the 1940's with the 1946-1949 poll.

Ok, The Monster Maker crushed it, so, it's time to finish the 1940's with the 1946-1949 poll. I have a feeling I know what's winning, but then again, I can be shocked....like with the last poll. Wow. 1946-1949 Poll

Well, we have a couple more hours and some change for the 1946-1949 poll, and House of Horrors is leading Abbott and Costello Meet Frankenstein by one vote. Will House go on to the next round, or will the swan song for the Universal Monsters (well, other than one that will join that pantheon in the next decade)? Speaking of that next decade, the next poll will be covering the first part of the 1950's, and, man, is it going to be a tough battle.

Well, we have our first Tie, as both House of Horrors and Abbott and Costello Meet Frankenstein move on to the next round. Now onto the 1950's, which actually starts in a bit of a lull, as it relates to horror film. We wouldn't get a massive amount produced per year until 1957. However, there is a lot of gold in these "slow years," and we'll see quite a few major/great movies in these next two polls; starting with this one, 1950-1954. 1950-1954 Poll

Couple more hours for 1950-1954. The Creature From the Black Lagoon is leading Godzilla by one vote (with the original Thing waiting in the wings to possibly steal it). You have two and a half hours to vote if you haven't, and either reaffirm or change the situation as it stands. Then, it's on to 1955-1956 and more great films (and a ton of crap).

The Creature From the Black Lagoon ended up taking 1950-1954, so, it's on to 1955-1956 (which is the last multi year poll for a while). I will say that there are some great films in here also. It should be interesting to see which film wins this. 1955-1956 Poll

Couple more hours for the 1955-1956 poll, and the Invasion of the Body Snatchers is leading Night of the Hunter by 1 vote. Whichever way you feel about that, you can affect things one way or the other by voting if you haven't already. Later tonight we will have our first solo year poll, 1957, as the horror output starts to significantly increase.

We wound up getting another tie with the 1955-1956 poll, as Invasion of the Body Snatchers and Night of the Hunter give us another tie. That means that both movies will go on to the next round, but now it's on to 1957, which is our first single year poll, so, head on over and vote for your favorite horror film out of that year. 1957 Poll

As expected, The Curse of Frankenstein is "Hammer-ing" down on the competition, but The Deadly Mantis could end up creeping up and at least breaking even with TCoF. Still have a couple hours to vote, and then it's on to 1958.

The Curse of Frankenstein wound up Hammer-ing ( ) the competition to move on to the next round. Now it's on to 1958, more Hammer, and a LOT of drive in sci fi movies (Including the original Blob and The Fly). 1958 Poll

Little bit longer for the 1958 poll. I will say that Hammer's Dracula is leading, but The Blob isn't too far behind. Next up will be 1959, as we prepare to enter a new decade.

Definitely not down with The Blob losing.

Unfortunately, the Blob did indeed lose to Christopher Lee's Dracula (and via pimp slap, as Lee's Dracula was keen on doing) in our 1958 poll. Now it's on to the last year of the 1950's, 1959. You know where to go and what to do. 1959 Poll

House on Haunted Hill is leading the 1959 poll currently, but Bucket of Blood could conceivably sneak up and at least tie before this one is said and done. Still a couple more hours to vote, and then it's off to the 1960s.

The House on Haunted Hill wound up spooking its way to the winner's circle in the 1959 poll. Of course, that means it's on to the 1960's, which, of course begins with 1960. Click the link below to vote for your favorite movie out of this year. 1960 Poll
