Guess training for that explains why he just plain vanished from SmackDown.

I can see him being pretty good at it, but he also has value as a lower card guy so I hope he does keep wrestling as well.

This could explain some crap.

Michael Cole is "Senior Director of On-Air Talent"? This could explain some crap. To be fair, he’s the guy who brought Nigel in as a commentator for the UK Title tourney and then made him a part of the NXT booth.

No wonder it sounds better than RAW's. With much grief as I give Cole when he's on the call he seems to be doing better backstage.

I mean even when he's allowed more freedom he does better. I remember people enjoying Cole's Beast in the East commentary.

Yea, I thought it has been established that Cole isn't as bad when he doesn't have Vince in his ear and he's better backstage in directing the other commentators

The worst part is, Aiden was getting crazy heat, he could have been a solid midcard Heel. This is why WWE is divided into Main Eventers and Nobodies.

English I think will kill it at this role, but I can't help but feel unless he asked for this role or really wanted to do it, that breaking up Rusev Day was such a stupid move in the end. Helped NO ONE.

I remember people enjoying Cole's Beast in the East commentary. Cole is probably the most criminally underrated commentator in wrestling. Any time he's given even a moment of freedom, he's great. The guy has talent and charisma, and lest we forget, heel Cole was run into the ground but it was mega f***ing over and he was really good at it - it's just that a lot of people hated the things he was being asked to do (in some cases only after a point). A lot of the Cole hate feels like a hangover from years ago before people knew just how much micro-managing went on with commentary. Many folks don't seem to yet grasp that Cole is the f***ing author insert, not someone with any control over what he gets to say. Also, Renee has stated more than once that the reason she got to be on commentary - and regardless of how you feel about her commentary, it's a woman, full-time, in the booth, which is something very notable - was because of Cole's pushing.

Helped NO ONE. Rusev and Lana were going to be fine no matter what, but it should've at least cemented Aiden as a Ciampa-esque scumbag heel in the midcard.
