I feel like the Shield should be exempt, just since it really goes against the spirit of the thing when all three guys have been WWE champion and have been huge deals in their own rights.
For LOD, I guess Animal had less singles success, but it's not like either guy had a lot of success on their own.
New Rockers, Marty got to be the Marty twice, given Al Snow kept employed and got the head gimmick going, whereas Marty only got brief gigs any time after the New Rockers ended.

APA is a weird one. In WWE, Simmons is the Jannetty as he didn't do anything after while JBL was JBL, but Simmons came into WWE as a world champion and got relegated to midcard fodder because Vince hates anything he didn't make. In a way, the APA itself is the Marty Jannetty.

The only person on that list that is a Jannetty is Marty Jannetty. None of the others are even close.

A lot of teams here that either don’t have a Jannetty or don’t have a Shawn, but I’ll do my best: Revival: Dash Wilder The Shield: Dean Ambrose (there’s definitely no Jannetty here) New Day: Xavier Woods (or here) Nasty Boys: Jerry Sags (no Shawn) Legion of Doom: Hawk (n/S) Demolition: Ax (n/S) Owen and Bulldog: Bulldog (n/J) APA: Faarooq The Godwins: Phineas (n/S) New Age Outlaws: Road Dogg (n/J) New Rockers: Jannetty Miz & Morrison: Morrison Cesaro & Sheamus: Cesaro (n/J) Enzo & Cass: Big Ass Slater & Rhyno: Slater (n/S)

None of those have a Jannetty. They've either both been successes or neither have outside of tag team wrestling.
We as a fan base need to let the "Jannetty" label die. We can't complain about the state of tag team wrestling and then obsess over which of the team is more or less likely to break out as a star.

I just went with stuff like Ambrose has been yo-yo'd while Rollins and Reigns were pushed to the moon.
Woods hasn't done much as a singles guy.
Owen was just a better wrestler than Bulldog.
Faarooq didn't do anything after APA.
Cesaro is better than Sheamus.
Etc.
Just things like that. All those guys have some talent, I just went with how their careers went overall. Jannetty was IC champ for a bit, he just couldn't keep his shit together.

Are any of them alcohol abusers that get arrested during their big pushes? No? None of them, then.

Are any of them alcohol abusers that get arrested during their big pushes? No? None of them, then. Hawk was a drunk. Bulldog had obvious drug problems. Shawn was drugged up a lot. And Enzo was accused of rape. So...they all could have easily been arrested at some point. And obviously we're talking in-ring/career.

You can't have a Janetty in a team where the other guy didn't go off to be a huge star in his own right and this whole concept just needs to be taken out behind the shed already. The important question isn't which of the Nasty Boys is the least notable star, it's when someone is going to issue an official and personal apology to me for the Nasty Boys.

Some guys are BOTH the Jannetty. I hate this idea that there’s a “Shawn Michaels” in every tag team and every tag team must split up so they can see how it works out... no. It’s plainly obvious that JTG or Shad weren’t gonna have the success of Shawn Michaels. Same goes for Enzo and Cass. So why split them up? Some guys need each other. The Revival fall into this category.

The Jannetty isn't the weak link. He was a capable wrestler and quite over whenever he was around. However, his demons sunk him as he couldn't keep out of trouble. Shawn had the same demons but was lucky enough to avoid law troubles and have a company backing him all the way. I'm not saying that Janetty could have been a Shawn but if things had gone a bit different Shawn could have been a Marty. It's changed to the point where people say the Janetty is the weak link but that's not what it was. It was a guy whose life implodes while his partner becomes a superstar.

The Revival is still a team. So neither?
Honestly the term always should have been “The Anvil”
