Jarrett still has a tremendous punch. His punches are incredible. Can tell he worked with Jerry Lawler a lot.

As long as he's not booking himself, it should be a solid gain. Second-generation star, came up through the territories, solid mid-carder through the New Generation and Monday Night War eras and for better or worse, ran his own promotion that gave big-time exposure to some of the WWE's current big names. Double J has a wealth of experience, hopefully it's harnessed well. Yeah, Jarrett *does* have a great mind for the business. His TNA self booking, aside.

The Hardyz and their buddies must be thrilled. I like Jarrett as a talent, but I am faaaaaaaaaar from sold on him in any backstage role, given how he was responsible for so many of TNA's problems, then created a whole bunch of new ones when they brought him back, like the Hardy and GFW fiasco. But here’s the key thing here; He has zero control over anything. He’s probably in the same spot as Finlay, Jordan, Anderson et al and last time I checked, they have less backstage influence than Catering does since catering at least provides suitable nourishment. If Jeff was suddenly booking a brand, sure, there’s concern but when your boss is Vince, you might as well be just the dude who gets him his snow cone at lunchtime.

Yeah, they're not giving him the keys to the kingdom by any means. Dude knows the business and for all his flaws, I'm willing to bet he can help guys produce some good matches On a personal level: Seeing Jarrett is such a good place in his life is a great thing. Seeing just how *happy* and full of life he is out there and in backstage interviews, is a feel good thing. As a talent, he was overpushed by both him, and Russo. However, I think people vastly underrate his ability in the ring. Was he an all time great? No. But he was a far better worker than some people want to admit and the idea of him in the title scene (and with a run, not like, 7 of them) in 99/2000 WCW is by no means the worst idea ever

Never thought I'd see Double J in the WWE again, I've always had a soft spot for him since he was my uncle's favorite WCW guy for some reason. Looking forward to see what he can do as a producer.

I haven’t been a fan of his for years, but I’m happy for him in this role. He has a ton to offer as a player/coach of sorts and will help people get over.

Anybody associated with TNA's creative decisions getting any kind of position of power in WWE is the definition of failing upwards. It's an impressive feat to be so incompetent at your previous job that the biggest company in the world looks at you and goes "We gotta have that guy on the payroll!" Now hang on a second. We all know what WWE's TV is like lately. And if you want to know how to make an undeserving heel look completely unstoppable at the expense of everything and everyone else, then you want peak TNA Jarrett and you goddamn well know it. (Said with love, I became a wrestling fan during latter-day WCW so I actually think Jarrett's underrated as shit.) So like. When do we get Dixie on WWE payroll? They already have EC3, that's enough Carters bringing nothing of value. Low-Ki, Shane Douglas and Ole Anderson will work with the WWE before the year is out. Bank on it. Shane was in the most recent Foley documentary. Raven was in the Paul Heyman one. Honestly, what the f*** is happening?

Backstage doing whatever producers do? That's fine. On-screen to remind us of how many of his cohort are dead or retired and to give us the "Slapnuts" line? No, thank you.
Elias drew more dimes with his schtick than JJ ever did with his.

Who else produces right now? Michael Hayes, D-Von Dudley, Dean Malenko, Jamie Noble, Tyson Kidd and Jason Jordan? The full list is: - Abyss - Adam Pearce - Arn Anderson - Billy Kidman - Dean Malenko - D-Von Dudley - Fit Finlay - Glen Joseph - IRS - James Long - Jamie Noble - Jason Jordan - Jeff Jarrett - Jeremy Borash - Jim Smallman - John "Big" Gaburick - John Laurinaitis - Jon Briley - Mark Henry - Matt Hardy - Michael Hayes - Pat Patterson (more as a consultant for events like the Rumble) - Road Dogg - Sara Del Ray - Sarah Stock - Scott Armstrong - Sonjay Dutt - Shane Helms - Tyson Kidd Goldust appears to be preparing for a producer's role again as well, though it's always possible that Cody offers him a similar job with AEW. Just saw online, you can add Shawn Daivari to that list. That's a lot of agents to help put together matches the company is going to ignore anyways.

GM JJ sounds awesome to me if they'd like to use him that way. I'd also like to see him have some programs in NXT to work with some younger up and comers.

I'm normally dead against having the legends on TV taking time away from younger guys, but honestly, Jarrett still has it. I've always thought he was underrated, and the fans in the arenas seem to be super hot for him. He looked great wrestling in the Rumble (the wrestling, not the gear) and the feud with Elias is completely natural. I'd say let him and Elias have a match and just let Elias go over, then have him managing some guys while occasionally wrestling in matches too. Jarrett came up through the territories, not many of those guys are left and still in as good shape as he is any more.
