SmackDown caps off the long weekend in Phoenix tonight, with the effects of the Royal Rumble and Monday Night RAW carrying over to the Blue Brand.
Becky Lynch was supposed to announce who she was challenging at WrestleMania 35 tonight, but instead The Man showed up on RAW and picked to challenge Ronda Rousey for the RAW Women's Championship at the Show of Shows on April 7th in New York/New Jersey. This leaves Asuka free for a defence of the SmackDown Women's Championship - the same Asuka who defeated Lynch at the Royal Rumble before Becky went off and got into the 30 Woman Rumble Match which she ended up winning.
At least a couple of women are angry at Lynch for her actions. First off there's Lana, who although she was injured during Rusev's United States Title loss to Shinsuke Nakamura, and then attacked again by Nia Jax, she was not happy that Lynch "stole" her Rumble spot. And then there's Charlotte Flair, who felt that as the only original competitor left, she should have been given the Rumble win. Something tells us that the Queen will not let this lie.
Daniel Bryan joined Asuka in not being chosen by a Royal Rumble winner, as Seth Rollins went for Brock Lesnar instead. The Planet's Champion isn't shaken though, as he has a new ally in the form of Erick Rowan, who helped him retain the WWE Championship against AJ Styles. Why has Rowan decided to join forces with a man who was temporarily a fellow Wyatt Family member, and what will Styles do about it?
George Mizanin's favourite tag team will have their first SmackDown as Tag Team Champions, as The Miz and Shane McMahon dethroned The Bar at Chase Field following of all things, a Shane-O-Mac Shooting Star Press. Shane and Miz are planning to throw "The Best Tag Team Celebration in the World", but will The Bar crash it, or another team?
Last night saw the team of Nia Jax and Tamina as well as the Riott Squad earn their places inside the Elimination Chamber for the brand new WWE Women's Tag Team Championship. The match is also open to SmackDown teams, so will we see the likes of the IIconics, Fire and Desire and any other SmackDown combos go for Chamber spots? Knowing that Mandy Rose is looking to qualify, no doubt Naomi will seek a partner to try and take her down.
All this and much more from 8/7c on USA!
Then at 10/9c it's 205 Live on the WWE Network - what's next for Buddy Murphy after seeing off Akira Tozawa, Hideo Itami and Kalisto to retain his Cruiserweight Championship?
