The show's under a month before Mania, where they've already committed to having Ronda defend the Raw Women's title and Brock the Universal one. By then the Women's Tag champions will have been determined, probably in a holding pattern for a big Mania title match, and we'll have most likely done an Elimination Chamber to determine the challenger to the WWE title or something. No drastic shakeups are going to end up happening to the Mania card four weeks beforehand and all the marketing for the big matches will basically already be out there. At most Fastlane will end up shifting up the midcard belts or something.
So, like, what is even the purpose of this show? At least pre-bringing the brands back together I kind of got it, but this year it's just dumb.

I see this happening too. Becky vs. Charlotte at Fastlane where Charlotte gets a spot in the WM match if she wins. In the lead up she destroys Becky's knee and finally beats Becky when Becky passes out to the Figure 8 or whatever. |

Dude's more than done on the blue brand, and with Ambrose checking out they need another Timmy over there for the main eventers. ...you know, assuming they also move Balor to SDL where he's desperately needed so I can get my Finn/Andrade and Finn/Ali matches of course... |

I really can't see them moving AJ honestly. They're clearly in for the long haul on Seth as the face of Raw and that leaves... pretty much nobody besides AJ as the flag bearer for SmackDown. Unless they want to push Balor way up the card but the way they've already dumped him to redoing the shitty Lashley feud I doubt it. |

Most weeks I don't think their shows get sold on anything.
I watched Crown Jewel and Super Show-Down because I could and I'm a mark. There was nothing of interest on either card. If I had less time, most months nothing would be worth turning the Network on for as far as new wrestling shows go.

I wouldn't be surprised if AJ ends up having to "get past Rowan" for another shot at Bryan. Card Subject to Change and what not. Not the greatest match in the world, but Fastlane is pretty much the main definition of a filler "Wrestlemania feud builder" PPV.
