They even subtly rebranded to 'Worlds of DC' some months back. I actually kind of think them doin more separate films is a smart move. It differentiates them from Marvel, and they've already proven they're not good at it right now. Snyder really poisoned the well, good intentions or not. It really is a shame, all things considered. Loved Ben in the role of the Bat, loved Jeremy Irons' Alfred, still a fan of the Junkie XL Batman theme. Just a damn shame.

I still think Cavill not returning as Superman would be a bigger loss by far than losing Affleck. I still don't get why everyone is so concerned who they could slip into the Batman role, it's not like there isn't a precedent of slipping new actors in as Batman and not having to explain it away. I know it's tougher now that the characters are more linked together through JL, but there's no reason someone couldn't slip in and take over the role. I would love to see either Jon Hamm or Armie Hammer take over the role.

Doesn't Affleck have a future solo Batman film in his contract though? It was my understanding that he's retired as far as Reeve's version of Batman is concerned since it's focusing on a younger Bruce Wayne.

He talks about it in the interview how he tried to direct a version of Batman and had a screenwriter but couldn't "hack it" so he decided to give it up to someone else meaning he left behind the director position and the cowl

Cool. Really interested to see how he does, especially with it apparently being developed as a trilogy now

No thanks. This should have been Affleck writing, directing and starring. An older, grizzled, detective Batman, up against a physical and mental equal in Deathstroke.
Frying pan faced Batman mopes around a script approved by WB, which will more than likely want to appeal to fans of the actor rather than the character. Great.

That's a disservice to Pattinson who has become a good actor Affleck didn't want this role and in the end I rather have someone who wants this role and them trying something different as well that could pay big dividends "Fans of the actor" that know him from Twilight aren't little. That first movie was over 10 years ago
