Man as a kid I thought this stable was dope. Looking back at it man it just didn't make any sense lol. I'm literally watching a promo where Konnan's threatening Nash. Konnan literally said "you get ready to toss our salad and peel our potatoes" before rushing the ring to fight this man lmao. This was a wild time in WCW man. I kind have always liked Rey look when they took the mask off and he started using the devil horns and other crazy shit. It was different for him Konnan tho, sheesh his material has aged real badly and he still does this same shit later. It was wildly popular and what always kept him on TV and you can tell certain people tried to rip his style like Big Poppa Pump but Konnan was saying a whole lot of nothing and was still over lol
Konnan fell in love with wearing whatever he want as a wrestler and being himself that he made that his gimmick from that point on. Dude's like someone who just had Casual Dress Day at work. After that day he wants to do it all the time because it happened once lol.

The crazy thing is he can get away with that shit in the 90s because it made him stand out and he was on it in terms of rap culture dudes was def on it with that same shit too lol
However, like a lot of rappers in the 90s he ain't grow with the times either lol

Filthy Animals are probably one of the top 5 stables ever. Great theme too.

Wow does Rey look like a 12 year old boy without his mask on.
Also I always assumed that tossing salad was slang for wanking but when I look up its meaning online, all I can think is WTF that makes no bloody sense.

I loved the Filthy Animals. I didn't have cable growing up so knowing Spanish I would watch the edited Nitros on Telemundo. I can't speak for others but in Southern California most of the kids who were into WCW were huge fans of Rey Mysterio, Kidman, Booker T and Goldberg rather than guys like Sting/Nash/Hogan/Horsemen etc. A lot of people ignore how just over Kidman was during this time too. What he lacked in promos he made up for in boyish raw energy. The girls loved him because he was attractive and daring and the boys because the shooting star was sick and the long hair appealed to punks/skaters. Simple as it is that white tank-top/shorts attire is still one of my favorite wrestler looks. The friendship with Rey put him over the top with latinos. He was that white boy that was one of us and was willing to put himself on the line to prove it. Yeah, I loved this shit. Granted I enjoyed a lot of WCW 2000 in a car wreck sort of way but Kidman and Mysterio were my dudes.

Remember when they buried Ric Flair in the Mojave Desert during Russo's first week in the company? What was great about that was Ric Flair was convinced Russo was gonna bury him in his booking due to all the old guys being leery of Russo but Russo assured him he wouldn’t and then days later Russo scripts Flair being literally buried into the ground. Flair's account of their first conversation en route to filming in the desert says a lot. Yes it's Flair so pinch of salt, but it rings true. R: You don't like me F: I don't know you R: You're friends with Jim Cornette F: Yeah R: Jim Cornette hates me F: That's between you and Jimmy, I don't know you. Russo already setting himself against guys. Then a bit later after he's told Ric what they're doing... F: So why am I getting buried? How do I get out? R: I don't know, we'll figure it out later. Then Russo wanted to bring him back without any explanation a little while later and Ricky refused because it hadn't been explained.

Again, why can't wrestlers dress like normal people when they're not wrestling? It's a small way to show personality. But nope, everybody has to be in their wrestling gear 24/7 and/or wearing their T-shirt.
But Konnan, dude...why didn't anybody tell him he looks like Don Corleone when he died playing with his grandson?

Nothing like 30-40 year olds acting like high school kids and a year or two too late for it to have been funny or popular in the overall Attitude Era of wrestling. Kidman, Rey, and Juvi were in their mid-20s when this was going on. The older ones were Eddie Guerrero, Konnan, and Disco Inferno.

I have no problem believing that "we'll figure it out later" That's one of Russo's catchphrases right up there with Bro.

As far as I can remember, Jericho wasn't on TV much, if at all after Uncensored that year. As for the Radicalz, I remember Saturn, Malenko, and Benoit were all part of The Revolution, though Benoit was kicked out of that stable and had a singles run before making the jump.
