The race just went to shit for Racing Point in a hurry. Stroll hits the wall and Perez breaks down.

Newgarden has his second IndyCar championship. Also, Colton Herta has won his second IndyCar race. Hope he can keep up the pace next year, and more importantly have some consistency. Even with two wins, he lost ROTY to Rosenqvist because he kept crashing out all the damn time. But damn, future is bright for him. IndyCar top ten: 1 - Josef Newgarden, 641 pts 2 - Simon Pagenaud, -25 3 - Alexander Rossi, -33 4 - Scott Dixon, -63 5 - Will Power, -91 6 - Felix Rosenqvist, -216 7 - Colton Herta, -221 8 - Ryan Hunter-Reay, -221 9 - Takuma Sato, -226 10 - Graham Rahal, -252 Newgarden had 4 wins, Pagenaud 3, and Rossi, Dixon, Power, Herta, and Sato each had 2. Those same drivers also had every pole position, except Dixon who had 0 and Rosenqvist who had 1. And thus begins the long offseason.

I remember everybody hyping up Herta when he took the pole at RoadAmerica. Then he got passed by Rossi on the very first turn of the race and his day got worse from there.

Somehow he learned how to manage tires between then and Laguna Seca. I am 100% ready for him getting mixed up in a championship battle with the likes of Newgarden, Rossi, Pagenaud, Dixon, and Power. Hell, Rosenqvist too if if he can turn his consistent finishes into victories next year.

Oh boy, Russia is always such a bludger of a race. Hope that changes this year.

First lap safety car, contact between Ricciardo and Grosjean ends up with Grosjean in the barrier.

Well, this race just went completely mad... Vettel’s retirement meant that a Virtual Safety Car was deployed and Hamilton was able to pit and stay ahead of Leclerc, but now Russell has crashed and the actual Safety Car is out and it bunches up the field.

www.bbc.co.uk/sport/formula1/50009871 Qualifying for the Japanese GP has been postponed due to Typhoon Hagibis. It's currently scheduled to take place on Sunday morning, 4 hours before the race.

Red flag in the first part of Qualifying in Japan. Kubica's mechanics will be earning their money if they can put his car back together in less than 4 hours after he put it in the barrier.
Also these race marshals are ridiculously quick and efficient.

Red flag again. Magnussen puts it in the same place as Kubica. Although he has managed to get it out and is trying to make it all the way round the track back to the pits.
6 minutes (with pauses) in and I don't think anybody has actually set a time yet.
