We are actually getting started on schedule, so I guess this is your usual 10 minute alert.

Away we go, and early contact between Verstappen and Leclerc.
(Got the split screen happening with this and the Bathurst 1000)

Hamilton had a bit of contact as well. LeClerc ignoring the team telling him to pit. Vettel could possibly be looking at a penalty for a jump start

The bit of Leclerc’s wing just came off and nearly hit Hamilton in the face.

Verstappen’s retired from the race. Meanwhile, we’ve just had teammates take each other out of Bathurst.

Vettel gets away without a penalty for his dodgy start and decides to push the pit lane limits instead.

Valtteri Bottas wins the Japan Grand prix and Louis hamilition is going to likely have to wait til the Mexican Grand Prix at the earliest to clinch the championship

10 minutes til we go racing in Mexico. Hamilton will pick up his 6th title if he scores 14 points more than Bottas.

Messy first lap ends with a VSC. Everybody's still going though, I think, just a bunch of debris about.

Disaster for Norris as he leaves his pit stop with a wheel not attached properly. He stopped before he left the pit lane and got pushed back, but it took an age.

Don't know what's going on, that's the third issue with a wheel not going on properly at a stop today.

This is a weird one.
I think the heat or the thin air up there is screwing with everyone.

10ish minutes til we go racing in Texas. We're getting towards the end of the season and Hamilton will have his second shot at snagging the drivers title. He's not made it simple starting in 5th, he could easily get caught up in the first corner chaos.

Relatively clean first lap but the Ferraris are struggling.

Vettel goes out with what looks like suspension failure. That's probably why he was struggling so much.
