I'm trying to listen to Cornette's review of DON, but I...I just can't. I can't deal with him anymore. I love his historical analysis, but just accept that the business has passed you by, man. I didn't disagree with some of his points on where to improve especially about the preshow but when he starts going off on the female ref and Sonny Kiss and Stunt or any of the other performers themselves, I have no time for that.

There were points I agreed with. As someone who follows the indies a bit, I knew who Excalibur was, but my buddies who more follow WWE and watch some stuff I recommend thought it was ridiculous to have an announcer in a mask. Some of his points I agreed with, but it is pretty easy to know what he is going to like without listening.

Dave Meltzer reports that Double Or Nothing is estimated to have done around 98,000 PPV buys, with an even split between traditional PPV orders and streaming orders. 2/3rds of that number are from the US, with the other top markets being the UK, Germany, Australia and Canada.
He also give Cody vs. Dustin five stars, and Young Bucks/Lucha Bros four and 3/4.

Yeah, I listened to it out of morbid curiosity and its like listening to Bagdad Bob of wrestling. The level of not getting it is just unreal at this point especially him trying to call the Bucks and Omega not major draws. It just hilarious at this point. Also Cornette and Russo hating AEW proves that horseshoe theory is true in regards to wrestling.

I only now just realized that Chris Jackson, who played George Washington in Hamilton musical, sang the national anthem. That's a legit huge get.

He is saying the people who drew 13,000 to an indie show with a completely untested name brand aren't a draw? Why the f*** was anyone there if nobody on it is a draw?

Finally finished it.
Loved how JR threw the other two questions to get them going on topics. And relevant ones at that. Not the most top notch commenting team but miles above anything else current.
Appreciated seeing women of several body types and not just Pamela Anderson knockoffs.
Awesome Kong was such a tremendous surprise. Moxley got spoiled for me. Never was much of a Ambrose fan but hopefully his new environment will change that.
Justin Roberts is fine but tone fiwn his massive extensions on vowels.
Big kudos for using wrestlers in their street clothes when they were not wrestling.
The ten second rule after a tag and referee digression on outside the ring action provided such a pleasant change.
Loved the best friends 'two close friends comfortable enough in their own sexuality to show off said friendship' shtick.
Fun as they were I hope this PPV ends AEW taking pots hots at WWE. Focus on yourselves.
See Vince! Treat employees with respect and use them to the full extent of their abilities and AEW would not even exist.
Some of the wrestlers could get better at selling moves.
I noticed no two wrestlers looked alike out there. Great diversity not just in looks but wrestling styles as well.
And I hope the Twitter shout outs fades as the company gains momentum. It took only 3 hours for them to get old.

Dude was ranting about the female ref and Sonny Kiss and the guy with no legs and complaining that things are out of place feeling or they're just there without explanation. The point that he doesn't quite get is that in AEW we can just have anyone regardless of anything different about them and it's not a big huge grandstand deal. Yes, they're just there and it's accepted and none of it needs to be done as a side show or as a pat on the back for attention. It's cool to have some shit just be, ya know?

That goes along with what Cody said about how they're pushing for inclusiveness in AEW and it's very much influenced by discussions he's had with Brandi about diversity and representation. They're pushing it without drawing attention to it because these folks are talented and it's the right thing to do as opposed to making it all about PR, which in turn builds buzz on its own because people react positively to what's seen as a genuine effort.
I know a number of people have been skeptical about Brandi's role in the company because of perceived nepotism, but like Dana (aka Mrs. Matt), she brings a lot to the table on her own merits. Without Brandi, you don't get the partnership with Kulture City to make DoN a sensory-inclusive event to reach out to fans with autism or PTSD, which is probably how Christopher Jackson got brought in to sing the National Anthem at the show.

It's amazing that they did 50% more buys than TNA's highest buyrate when they were doing 1.5 million viewers per week.

The power of social media. It's crucial that they use this to their advantage for the next few months until TV to stay on people's minds.

Boo, this isn't the Kong I wanted tonight. Kongo Kong? He'd show up for $5 and a bag of Cheetos.
