This whole movie confuses me.
The plot, who is acting in it, why they are doing it, just everything.
Just, why?
I'm not even sure its enough of a surefire moneymaker because a large proportion of the fanbase knows it's not actually Childs Play in anything but name and therefore won't make the effort to support it.
Just all a bit strange.

Not sure how I feel about Hamill as Chucky. Best ever Joker, hands down, but that's all I ever hear when he voices anyone else.

I think he'll do a great job in the role. I think many people will be surprised at how good he'll be.
As for the movie itself... I don't know...

I had avoided the trailer until I finally suffered through it when it ran before Us.
I'm sure Mark Hamill will do a great job... but yeah. This thing looks generic and it's completely unnecessary.

Regardless, at least we get a true Childs Play representation elsewhere I guess.

So Chucky will just sound like the Joker, then? (As 90s toon fans can attest to, Hamill had ONE villain voice, sooooooooo....)

Yikes... That looks like it would have been acceptable CGI about 20 years ago. I'm curious to see what the doll is supposed to look like when it's "normal" and not evil.

This looks like it's going to be very paint-by-the-numbers. The thing that made the original movie so interesting was the human element of Chucky being a real person who had real motives and now in the new movie the doll really has no motives and I bet it's some shadowy person with a vendetta against the Mom who hacked the doll to make it evil. Yawn...

So...Bear McCreary has just pulled a one-two punch with the Godzilla and now this movie's soundtrack. For your listening pleasure...
Just the right amount of unsettling, I love it. Oh, and then there's this...

I just saw it today, and I thought it was better than expected.

I just saw it today, and I thought it was better than expected. That was my feeling to. Was it a great movie? No, but in an age where Hollywood keeps remaking movies, this was a nice reimagining of the character.

Dropping the “it’s literally a possessed doll” angle sounds smart, although it seems to limit the potential for sequels.

Not using Dourif was a good move as Charles Lee Ray has nothing to do with this movie.

I thought it was boring. To be fair, I find most modern horror flicks boring though.
