Poor Matt Hardy hoping in 20 years time he gets to be walking around the zoo with Lita eating ice cream. In ten years he was in a zoo talking to "George Washington," is that close?

Episode 16: Rene Dupree, A Day in the Life. The company had high hopes for Rene, and that sure didn't work out for either party. It was pretty weird that they devoted so much of an episode to a developmental talent, but I guess it was an excuse to showcase OVW. Nowadays that consists of him trying to give random female fans his hotel room number when he works an indy show. (Yep...)

It still amuses me to see interviews with Jerry Brisco back in those days, when his tongue was permanently inserted into Vince’s rectum. I post this every time, but I STILL hate Brisco for the way he talked about WCW going out of business in the MNW documentary, like there weren't hundreds of completely innocent people working there who weren't Kevin Nash or Eric Bischoff or Hulk Hogan, for example. 'We watched you roll over in the dirt, and die.' Good job, Gerry!

Even at 11 years old, and the only WCW I knew of was the Invasion Era WCW, I thought that line was moronic.

I mentioned this in the previous page, but in the book "Nitro", once the WWF bought WCW, everyone who worked for WCW's corporate office was shut out of there, and their belongings were now the WWF's own property. All the WWF really wanted from that office was WCW's tape library, but there was a lot of pettiness that day is Smyrna. But, to Gerald Brisco, the WWF people there were the good guys.

The book says the employees' computers and e-mail accounts were disabled (causing one guy to lose a script he had been writing), but they were allowed to go through their desks and get their personal belongings. WWE did have police there, though, to make sure no one took anything that was now their property.

I'd imagine some of the 29 minute/30 minute episodes probably had matches featured that were cut. I remember some nights they'd show a match "From The Vault", which would be kinda pointless since the "vault" is at our fingertips if we're already watching Confidential. I doubt it since they probably don't care about redundancy that much. It's more likely footage they can't use, either because it's about music they can't play on the Network or something from a non-wrestling program that's owned by another company. If there was a segment about, say, The Rock on the set of a movie, they could show what a WWE crew taped on set, but if they aired actual footage from the movie, they'd have to cut it. So I didn't realize I had the German show rip on a hard drive, and the segment that was cut was behind the scenes of Big Show being on UPN's One on One.

Having finished the episodes, I have to say the quality dipped quite a bit later on.

Worth mentioning: The references to the WCW offices made me look up the address. Turns out it's four and a half miles from my apartment. I pass it when I go to my therapist. There's a construction company and a used office furniture dealership there now.

Has the Network skipped some episodes? Confidential did have re-runs every so often, but there are no episodes for 3 straight weeks in June/July 2003. Also, was there a episode on May 3, 2003, two days after Miss Elizabeth's death? If so, that one is missing, too.

The segments include: Bob Costas talk about wrestling(clips from Hogan on Tonight Show/Regis), Trish Stratus Babe of the Year photoshoot, Outside the Ropes with Coach and The Hurricane, a feature on Jesse Ventura, Randy Orton and Jacqueline working out with a contest winner, and From the Vault: Jesse Ventura vs. Curt Hennig from December 19th, 1981.

I wonder why it's missing? I'm also curious as to why they were talking about Jesse Ventura so much. There's a segment about him on the May 10 episode, too.

Skirting a certain subject as much as possible, but at the start of 2003 he was.....unemployed and while I don't recall any rumoring of him returning to the WWE, former political types tend to wanna keep their face on TV after they're out of public office and perhaps this was the WWE's way of letting him know they were interested or that the door could be open?

He seemed to be on good terms with them at the time too, even narrating the Mania of Wrestlemania special.

Confidential is the classic content drop for May 2020. This will likely complete the episodes I guess.

Confidential is the classic content drop for May 2020. This will likely complete the episodes I guess. It shouldn't be unless WWE is adding way more episodes at once than they have been. There are still several months to go (August 2003 to April 2004).
