As a mother of 4 kids who live and breathe WWE I'm kinda happy it its a child's product? Sometimes I shake my head a wrestlers and wrestling fans who say things like this cause it's like they forget that kids watch WWE too.

He’s referring to the Montreal Screwjob at Wrestlemania 16, brother. No, no, no! You got the date wrong. It was not WrestleMania 16, it was WrestleMania XV. And it all happened because Owen didn't want to be the Blue Blazer. I thought it only happened because Hogan told vince " brother neither one could draw like I could" and that he should be the one to walk away with the belt and that "he'd have a word with the wcw bigwigs to let him appear on both companies ppv's to defend the earth from the aliens in suburban commando"

All wrestling is for children.
Either literally or mentally.

I don’t think anyone, even Riddle, is saying it shouldn’t be a kids product. The main problem is that it should be better for that reason. People should be caring about Finn Balor and Seth Rollins or Becky and Sasha in the same way they care about anyone from Steven Universe or Spongebob or Teen Titans Go. They don’t because the effort isn’t anywhere near there as much as it is for those shows and it shows in how WWE’s core audience is in its 40-50s.

I certainly hate Brock Lesnar the way I hate Steven Universe. We're getting there!

No, it's just shit. Very little of it would even appeal to children. Are kids really that enthralled by repetitive corporate bullshit with the McMahons? I doubt it.

And do kids really enjoy seeing Baron Corbin vs. Braun Strowman every week for a month and a half?

And do kids really enjoy seeing Baron Corbin vs. Braun Strowman every week for a month and a half? Well, they seem to enjoy seeing Braun at least.

The fact that it's a kids product isn't the problem.
The fact that it's a shitty kids product is the problem.

I don’t agree, it’s not a child’s product.
It’s a substandard product.

Whether it’s childish and dumb or just awful, Matt Riddle’s presence will fit right in.

If I was a kid I would probably hate the current product even more than I do now.

And theres nothing wrong with enjoying things aimed at younger demographic. All i read/watch is shonen anime such as bleach and one piece (just read vol 85 and bought Jump Force, having a Blaaaaaaaast with a big ol smile seeing Goku and Luffy interact in story/side note) and i have no shame enjoying that over GoT or Walking Dead. Doesn't mean mines worse or poorly written, diff strokes. I dont know what point of his commemt was. Wrestling as mentioned earlier will always be a kid/teen product, it's not ballet ;]

There is nothing wrong with that statement. WWE proper *is* aimed at children more than NXT is. It has to maintain a PG rating that NXT doesn't necessarily have to and much more of its retail merchandise is aimed at children. That's...just how it is. He's not saying it's a bad thing necessarily, just that they have to keep things toned down more than NXT has to.
