Neither of them does much for me but Crews has a much bigger upside as I see it so the result is right.
The signing of EC3 made no sense in the first place. Not good enough at anything to be part of either NXT or main roster.

I think the problem is that EC3's whole persona comes from TNA, and despite EC3 getting to keep and use the name, TNA, I'm sure, owns the gimmick, and I seriously doubt WWE want to go to the dealing table for EC3. Even barring all of that, it is a TNA idea/gimmick, and I'm sure Vince doesn't want to have anything to do with it because it was a TNA idea. This basically leaves dude as he is currently; a buffed up dude with a goofy name (as now it has no context). But it's WWE's choice to keep him with that name and not give him something else. THat's entirely on them for writing the show that way. There's no excuse there.

You know, I'm glad more avenues in wrestling are opening up, because WWE being "The only game in town" is proving detrimental to so many people. They have five hours of main TV programming each week and it feels like they can barely showcase half their roster with it as it is... if they ain't gonna use guys it's best to just let them go. EC3 might be a prime example of that, didn't let him talk, barely let him work. How is anyone supposed to get over like that??

With him starting out in the original competition style NXT, going to TNA, coming back to real big boi NXT, and then finally getting a shot on the main roster, only to lose to one of the least over guys on a show nobody watches? That's gotta be immediately frustrating. I'd be seriously questioning my life choices.

A. No one watches Main Event. B. Apollo was the hometown guy so it was a rare hometown win in WWE. C. No one will remember this in a week. That wouldn't be an issue regardless because nobody remembers EC3 anyway.

That's too vague for a single wrestling promotion to try and claim ownership.

Balor would probably give him a shot. All he has to do is ask, but he can't get one word out these days. Alexa could book it since she has booking powers now. And you know she wants to see those two go at it. Alexas love when two man with great abs are all over each other.

Not sure why they rehired him. He's not particularly good at anything, and they have plenty of folks who are. He really feels like someone they hired just because they could.

I mean... I get the bigger picture here, but still, I just can't find it in me to care about anything to do with EC3.

Hey guys, what is a better ring name for an AEW debut: Ethan Runnels, III or Ethan Jackson, III? Or, outside shot, Ethan Kahn, III? Asking for a friend.....

They could hire Russo and I wouldn't care.

He can play the entitled rich guy by himself. Even his last name isn't an issue; Carter is a common surname. Besides, a wink and a nod towards his rich aunt every now and then wouldn't hurt anything.

Can we deflate EC3 back to "Derrick Bateman" size? That'd be swell.

There was a whole big thing right around the time Callis and Co. came in about the gimmicks. They basically gave up ownership of all names and gimmicks to the talent, and explicitly stated that talent could take their names and gimmicks and go wherever they want with them. So, it's definitely not an ownership thing. Vince just gonna Vince.

I remember one of the complaints on here about Del Rio being that for a guy who's supposedly rich, he never used his money for anything. Dude just came out in his car (before they took that away) and that was it. Looks like they're going that route with EC3 too.
