In what would normally be the odd story of the day, but may barely be making the podium at this point...
Now, to start off on a positive... More female perspective in the writing room is a plus, even if that perspective is one that's a bit murky given she was married to the late Ultimate Warrior and stayed with him through all his controversial statements. That said... Dana Warrior? Are there writing credentials that I'm not aware of here? Is she a literary ingenue that has an uncanny ability to get something through to Vince McMahon? Or just another one of the rank and file that gets paid to pitch ideas which get filtered through five other layers before it lands with Vince and he does his own thing regardless?

Yeh I think it might just be nepotism? It is the WWE after all.

If they're just giving her a tryout, it can't really hurt. If her input sucks, presumably they'll just not pick her up for a longterm role.
Sometimes, an outside perspective can pay off, but other times, you can get some problems. Doesn't sound like she's being given a bunch of power, though.

Not to sound judgey, she seems like a sweet woman, but she also seems crazy and not in a creative kind of way. Seems like a square peg in a round hole.

Maybe the Warrior family needs money and Vince is giving her some work. Maybe when she was doing stuff with the company last time she pitched some ideas for storylines that someone liked.
It'd be great if some of Warrior's lunacy rubbed off on her and we get some absurd ideas. But since those would be entertaining they probably wouldn't make it to TV anyways.

It's cool to give someone a job if they need one, but writing the freaking shows with no experience? They couldn't give her a job as a secretary or something?

Dana Warrior: I’ve got it! What if we send Ronda Rousey on a college campus tour where she can talk to people about-
Hunter: Nononononono.

Based on some of her tweets and other interviews I’ve heard I....no she’s probably got a screw loose so she’ll fit right in.

While a female voice on creative is good in theory, Dana was never a wrestler, she never booked, worked as a manager or had any connection to the business aside from being married to a wrestler, and it's unlikely her writing credentials are stronger. There are plenty of other roles she could do, and plenty of more qualified people who could be considered for creative.

She's there as a token hire to make the company look good, has kinda sorta name value and won't actually do anything of substance.
As long as Vince is in charge, has full say and can change his mind at the flip of a coin that's pretty much the case for every creative team hire.

Does she have any background in writing whatsoever? Just curious?

Considering some of the writing WWE has churned out lately, she will be hard pressed to be WORSE

Nonsenical hire but not like it really matters anyway. The final word goes through Vince and all other ideas are either filtered out or highly adjusted to fit his vision. You could hire JK Rowling for the writing team and not much would change.

Dana: so at Wrestlemania I think Batista should no-sell the Pedigree and squash Hunter in 3 minutes.
HHH: we’ve made a huge mistake.

Even for a token hire this is a weird one. I’m guessing that Vince just has a soft spot for her.
Hopefully she’s as crazy as Warrior was though:
“We need to get this Asuka/Lacey feud jumpstarted. Anyone have an idea?”
“Lacey needs to talk about hijacking a plane and crashing it into Mt. Fuji. To kill all of the Asukamaniacs.”
“........”

I am usually one of the big defenders of more women in male dominated roles, but does she have any writing qualifications outside of 'is a woman'? Genuinely asking.

If you want female input in the writers' room, like... Maybe hire some female writers? They exist.

Depends.
The report said she'll be there to offer an additional female perspective and it's only temporary. Given that I'd say that it can work if they do it well. For example, if it's something like
"Ok Dana, how we're doing this with the women in this segment. How does that look from your perspective?" "I think you're making the women be too catty, they look stupid from an outsider's perspective." "Ok, thanks. Ok let's change this. Ok what would your daughters think about this?" "They'd think it's dumb." "Ok, we'll change that too."
Then it could work given she's not exactly "in" the WWE bubble but she's in between both sides. Hiring a full on writer would be more of a writer's perspective rather than a viewer's perspective so if that's their direction I can see how it could work.
If it's being a full on writer than nah that wouldn't work.
