This social media gimmick with Rhonda and Becky reminded me of this. It would be easy to forget for how short it was, but there was a period were WWE attempted to cross over the events on Total Divas with the general product on RAW and Smackdown. My main recollection was a time where Natalya (Correct me if I am wrong) abandoned Summer Rae in the middle of nowhere after an argument in a rental car-so during a match on Smackdown Summer kept screaming about “You think you can kick me outta the car?” The main reason it is so forgettable is becaus it lasted about two or three shows before WWE realized it was going nowhere and that not all of their general audience was watching Total Divas. Am I missing any examples?

I wish it had gone on a little longer, just so we could have had Nattie try to be a face in a feud with Paige where she tried to initiate a car crash to not have to take a drug test, all while with Cameron in the car with her.

There was something at a UK Raw I went to where Natalya was training with Fandango or some shit? They had a bad intergender tag out of it.
Edit: this is it.. Don't think they had a mixed tag but maybe Tyson v Fandango haha

I just remember feeling dumbstruck because Total Divas made it obvious that the show was running months behind the actual product, but somehow these events that had happened all that time ago was just boiling over now, even if they seemed fine a week ago.

It was hilarious when Miz hosted that Miz TV segment with the cast. Someone (maybe Eva Marie?) asked him what he ever accomplished, Miz then ran off a list of his accomplishments and got a pop for it. Mind you, he was a heel at the time.

I choose to believe they filmed it, forgot what happened in the meantime, and then old feelings were brought back to the surface once the episodes happened. The old seasons of Total Divas were fun, man. It doesn’t feel the same anymore. Though they’re shifting out some of the longtime cast members and replacing them with Ronda (among others), so it’s going to definitely have a different feel. |

The best thing to come out of Total Divas is that Natalya got a 'cat gimmick' which is honestly the best gimmick she's ever had in the WWE (better than jobbing, never winning the Women's title, or farting). I believe she stole the gimmick from Tyson tho but maybe she's allowed to share her hubby's gimmick since he can't wrestle anymore.

I also recall Tyson briefly doing the neglectful husband gimmick and how they tried to cross it over by setting it up that Natalya was jealous of him hanging out with Cesaro |

I'll just never understand why the show toes the line. Either be kayfabe or not. Like, the original cast members go by their real names like Trinity instead of Naomi, but the new cast members go by their character names, like Lana or Paige?

Yeah, the teams were Bella Twins, Natalya, Naomi, Cameron, Eva Marie and JoJo (in one of only six career matches (three of them televised) she ever had before being reassigned to other roles in the company) versus AJ Lee, Alicia Fox, Tamina, Summer Rae, Kaitlyn, Aksana and Rosa Mendes. |
