In the early 2000's, Mr. Ross had somewhat of a bad habit of switching around Jericho and a certain Canadian Crippler's last names on commentary - especially when they wrestled each other - before catching and correcting himself. Of course they looked nothing alike, but are both Western Providence guys who joined the company within six months of each other.
So, did JR ever commit this error after that fateful July 2007 weekend when Y2J returned to "save us" at the end of 2007 and through his 'serious heel' run?
How awkward mentioning the deceased persona non grata would have been.

Not related but remember Lawler calling Orton ‘Randy Savage’ on RAW in like 2009(?) when he was still kind of persona non grata in WWE? So random.

This isn't a new thing if you watch some of the old Mid-South on the Network. During a 1984 match with Johnny Mantell and Buddy Landell the finish saw Landell reach into his tights for a foreign object, hit Mantell, and get a pin while JR was like "Mantell just used that object!" Joel Watts of all people had to correct him that it was in fact Landell.

He mixed up which Hardy was which all the time, too. On the subject of the Hardy's he also mixed up the twist of fate and The Whisper In The Wind all the time. To the point on an episode of Raw he called The Whisper In The Wind and then said something like, "I know what it's called." |

If he did it would have probably came in that six month period between Jericho coming back and JR being moved to Smackdown, where even if he did slip up they would have edited it out
