Can we replace Drew with either one of The Proclaimers? Only if you're willing to walk 500 miles and then walk 500 more...

Feel like 99.9% of issues come down to Bad Writing. The 0.01% is Jinder Mahal and Baron Corbin being terrible wrestlers. But so were The Godfather and ECW Rhyno. You write around it, accentuate the positive. WWE's been stuck with one shoe fits all (wrestlers and fans) for so long. Man,Jinder Mahal had really good booking, solid wins and character directions. He just sucked.

Drew is great. It’s just the writing/material he has been given since he got back has succcccked. Super serious heels/faces can only go so far and they haven’t really given him anything to work with outside of that. Which is a shame because the dude left and came back super improved on almost every level from ringwork to promos. Yep, first night on the main roster and he's paired with Dolph. Damn kiss of death right there. Then they split that team and he's stuck doing nothing, with them hyping him as a psychopath but no reason why, moving right into role Ziggler had before leaving, nothing. Now with him in line to be Seth's first feud post-WM, they are doing their best to rush what they should have been doing all along, giving him purpose. He'll be fine if they keep building off of tonight. Sticking him with the human heat vacuums Corbin and Lashley did him absolutely no favors, either. Get him the f*** away from those 2, give him back 'Broken Dreams' and the future shock DDT, keep him actually being a menace and he'll be fine

I think the problem is that he just feels like a wrestler. Nothing more, nothing less. He does not feel like an actual living, breathing, real person. For example, he is always in his ring gear. When he attacks someone, when he cuts a promo, hell, when he arrives to the building, he is always in ring gear. I know that this may seem like a miniscule thing but I think that actually looking like a person can help the crowd to relate and build a connection. Look at Triple H. When he comes out in a suit, he is in "COO mode" and is probably going to make a match or a ruling. When Triple H comes out in jeans and a leather jacket, we know he is there for a fight. Drew McIntyre is always in full gear. Who is Drew McIntyre outside of the ring? Knowing that will give fans a reason to care about him inside of the ring. Daniel Bryan works as a heel because of the character work we get from him outside of the ring (his environmental tracts and etc). Drew could easily stand to have something for his character beyond “evil Scottish guy who beats people up”.

I respect him for leaving and getting jacked and earning a return but he's never clicked with me. Not to rehash an old forum meme but it's like "Tensai has been in Japan and he's awesome now!" when he's really not. People say he was great on the indies or whatever but I still find him boring. Actually I'm not sure I'd even call him boring. It's just kinda indifference.

Drew reminds me of that C level villain in an 80's/90's cartoon/comic that looks like a totally awesome badass and has good one episode stories every now and then... and it works great. But a couple years down the road they try to turn him into THE Major Big-Bad and the entire series ends up dead-in-the-water because it just doesn't work. This is normally followed up with a soft reboot Cyborg/Clone/Zombie/Doombot version of a previous villain that was actually popular.

I want to like Drew, I really do. He's got a good look and he can look like an absolute killer in the ring. But he's just so... boring otherwise. And then they teamed him up with the Black Hole of Excitement that is Baron Corbin and put Lashley with them too, for some reason. Which made it even worse.

And Drew continues to get worse. I thought he was as low as he could be but I guess not. This guy is horrible. I stick by my statement that he just needs to just stop with the promos, stop with that annoying bullshit and just wrestle.

Drew definitely has an upside, but they just need to get out of this habit of pushing top heels who are BORING.
Change him up. Let him wrestle more and speak less. He has the talent, just, for god's sake start masking his limitations and pushing his strengths.
We don't need boring heels anymore. They don't work in 2019. We don't need to be watching, we have other things to do.

Drew is the equivalent of the washboard player in a Celtic punk band Not even; he's the equivalent of the fifteenth member they get, after they already have a washboard player, whose only purpose is to mosh-jig on-stage while the band plays, because folk punk and ska both have a demand that at a certain number of members they need one person doing genre-appropriate dancing who is inexplicably "in the band" but is just like, their friend (read: weed guy).
