Samoa Joe about to come to the ring with Kerwin White’s theme music next week.
And I have said before, this is one angle where 2003 HHH would actually make sense (as long as the racist lost in the end). Pretty much everything HHH said in that Booker T promo applies more to New Day than it did to Booker. This is one case where the use of outward racism with Kofi beating the odds and winning would have made a nice story. Of course that basically is the story now just more subtle to avoid the internet backlash, but still.

Not trying to be a downer here but what's going to happen four month after WrestleMania when Kofi uses his New day buddies to cheat or interfere on his behalf to keep the belt to the point that they come off as heels. kind of like Lucha house party? Or Kofi turns the belt into a pancake belt like Cena did with his spinello belt then would we wish this never happened? Who says they'll stay faces if they're booed? They turned heel when they started getting booed shortly after New Day formed, if they're booed again they'll likely turn heel. Kofi will then be a heel champion who has goons to keep him away from the face which is what a lot of great heel acts have. It'll be very Edge late 00s-ish.

I can see the WWE eventually turning New Day into the New Nation that we all feared, but for now I’ll enjoy Kofi getting his moment.

I actually like Kofi but he’s not a long term main eventer. He should win the title at Mania but he will ultimately lose it a month or two later and organically fall down to a more mid card/upper mid card role. That’s not even a bad thing, but he’s better as the underdog chasing the belt. He’s not the man to hold it for a long time. A lesser version of Jeff Hardy, maybe. That’s a good spot, IMO.

The way I see it, there's a few gimmie eliminations:
- AJ will take care of Orton, upsetting him enough to agree to the WM match
- Cena will peg Joe after showing his support for Kofi, lining that story up
- The Bar will DQ themselves with a beatdown that gets stopped by Xavier/Big E
- Rowan will be last, will have help from Bryan, and Kofi will overcome the odds on his own (or maybe a little help from Ali/Owens)
We will see how close I get next week!

I’m also going to guess Vince interjecting himself in the finish, but eating a Trouble in Paradise for his troubles.

Vince being apprehensive about pushing Black Dudes and then stacking the odds against them with a buncha big white dudes has gotta be one of the funniest things I've seen in awhile... Imagine if Lars Sullivan debuted as the final guy Kofi had to beat. I would nazi that coming.

I think Kofi loses in the last match and next week has another challenge to overcome or snaps on Bryan and rips him apart so badly that Bryan demands a match with him (hopefully at 'Mania and not a beat me and you get a shot at my title crap). That said, the subtext of racism is definitely there. Kofi even made a remark about people like him not getting a chance at the WWE title. So at this point I would say he's gotta win even if we have to fly Booker Freaking T in to make sure it's done right.

I have a weird feeling maybe someone refuses to play along and just leaves, getting themselves counted out.
Perhaps The Bar have a change of heart, or at the very least leave Kofi alone because it isn’t any fun?

I like how we're assuming he's gonna win.

Nation of Domination-style or original New Day-ignorant why fans are booing-style, I'm with it. Tired of TND's current act, even if I can't blame anyone as they are dependable. I'm all for an update.

If his name was just Joe I would have thought he owned an Italian restaurant in New York. Next week, Joe explains to New Day why they've been held back so long and what they should do instead and becomes known as Green Book Joe.

Samoa Joe after finding out he’s actually been “Nebraska Joe” this entire time: Joe realizing he just lost his intersectionality points and doesn't get to speak first at meetings anymore.

They are wise to keep it subtle but its why Vince is needed for this storyline. Bryan from what we know of him and the 'Portlandia' character he's playing would not make a very convincing racist (Rowan otoh has a certain 'Nordic' look that would make him popular in certain prison gangs).

Considering all Vince said was that if he beats them Kofi is going to WrestleMania I can't wait for Vince to come out after Kofi barely squeezes through to a hard won victory and hands him one nosebleed seat ticket to WrestleMania.

So Wrestlemania is heading for women in the main event, and a black guy winning a world title? I feel like echoing Denzel Washington's rather acidic comment the night both he and Halle Berry won Oscars - "Two birds with one stone, huh?"
