I been saying this same thing all week, and people never seemed to agree. I think there's just no real clear idea of what "kayfabe" even is anymore.

WWE's kayfabe is non exsistent...especially recently LU is completely TV show kayfabe...everything that happens on their show stays within the confines of the show none of it bleeds into twitter etc. ROH , IMPACT etc try to blur the lines and work both sides to varrying degrees I guess

The most baffling thing for me about Rousey flipping out on her blog is that they’re not even going to bring it up on TV. It’s been, what, a week and a half, two weeks now? They’ve had ample opportunity to mention it even in vague terms, and they really haven’t. So all they’ve done is irritate and anger a large part of their hardcore internet fanbase to the point of completely killing the angle for them. They should go out of their way to bury that part of the storyline next to "who moved the briefcase?" and "who was driving the hummer?". WWE needs to get as far away from Ronda's childish tantrum as possible. Not sure if the hummer thing was ever solved, but Big Boss Man moved the briefcase.

Didn't Bischoff come back and drive the Hummer during that 2000 era silliness? Was that actually a pay off to the original angle or just a random riff on it? I was never sure. I recall when that silly episode aired within minutes of the Bischoff "reveal" a college friend of mine called laughing uproariously at it, since the Hummer angle of 1999 was a running joke between us.

Kayfabe isn't the right word for it anymore I don't think. As the WWE especially is so big, the fact it's all not really real is unavoidable across the interviews they do, social media and reality shows. Generally, I can never really get my head around why people who spend tons of time discussing the intricate details of the business, get so upset about this.

Sometimes it feels like WWE is saying "Why do you care? It's all just content!" And that's not the concept they should be selling. That is precisely the problem, and has been for a number of years now. WWE used to provide quality storytelling, with depth, drama, and, for the most part, logic. If it lacked in realism it made up for it in fun. Now it is a case of the bare minimum elements that comprise a wrestling show, but thrown together with no rhyme or reason, no consequence, no emotion or heart. It's just there.. Just content used to broker big money deals.
