Have to be rudos now. Penta and Fenix are too popular in Mexico. Crowd hated it. The Bucks have been heeling it up the entire feud. This is the second set of titles they have cost the Lucha Bros. Only this time they've personally took these. Hopefully they do put the Lucha Bros over at Double or Nothing to prove that AEW isn't a vanity project. Oh, probably, especially since the Lucha Bros, particularly Penta, are one of the few acts arguably even hotter on the indies than they are.

I know they are pretty much beloved but they have always annoyed me for some reason and the only thing I'm potentially dreading with AEW is them becoming the Hogan of the tag division and dominating it forever.

I didn't really start paying attention to the Young Bucks until All In, so this is the first time I've seen them working heel, and it's a nice change of pace. Playing smug douchebag villains really works for them, IMO.

Yeah, they're not like my favorite team evar!! or something, but they have a niche, they've got a lot of practice out of it, and they do it quite well.

What's Penta and Fenix's status with AAA? I don't get to watch a lot of the ins and outs of AAA anymore, and I know that there's as much chance that any wrestler could be on the outs with AAA as they could be employed by them.
I assume, like others are, that the reason why the Bucks got the belts is so they could put them on the line against Lucha Bros at Double Or Nothing.

The Dudleys like to say they’re the greatest tag team ever because they’ve won multiple tag team titles all over the world. I guess the Bucks are eventually going to accomplish more than they did at this rate. Nick and Matt Jackson are still not as well-known as the Dudleys. On the internet? Sure. The average fan has no idea who they are.

From what I gather, they were frustrated at a point because they got over big in the US and were trapped in their gimmicks, so they got the Penta 0M and Rey Fenix ones for their own use, but must've worked something out to where they'll still do Pentagon Jr and Fenix for AAA business like their foray into Impact. Guessing they were given some kinds of concessions by AAA to not lose their biggest export.

Playing smug douchebag villains really works for them, IMO. They're so good at being heel, that if you pay attention to their promos they've never really stopped being arrogant heels. Matt: "People like to say we're one of the top 3 tag teams in the world" Crowd: "You're Number One!. You're Number One!" *everyone nods in agreement* Most of their act is just being full of themselves but able to back it up and manipulate the crowd. Not saying it's a bad thing, they're pros at it, but I've never seen them as faces. Especially Matt.

Yeah their heel act started as "Self Aware Spot Monkeys" but it's evolved into a new version of ECW Van Dam. "Goddamn these two are such arrogant pricks, but they're so damn good in the ring!"

It definitely works for them though. I agree I'd love to see them try and heel it up at Double or Nothing but there's no chance they get booed there. Hopefully common sense will prevail and they'll put over Penta & Fenix to keep the feud going.

First off, if I could like a post more than once, you'd get into the 100 Club just for "Pants and Felix" Second, based on the "vanity project" thing they've dropped on BTE this week, they're either shying away or leaning into it full tilt, with no in between.

I think auto correct has come up with the greatest tag team name of all time! Think of the merchandising opportunities.
