I haven’t watched her ascence but if Ronda ruins Becky’s push that would be the most wwe thing ever. No but see you don't understand she is a REAL FIGHTER and REAL FIGHTERS ARE BETTER Brad Reingans never raised a nickel Other than Brock and Kurt the list isn’t very long.

Crazy how Wrestle Kingdom managed to have no worked shoots in it (even as a bunch of major figures were on their way out to go start their own promotion) and I enjoyed that show from beginning to end for the stories it told and the matches they put on. In fairness Tanahashi and Omega really skirted the line with their feud based on hating each other's matches that was getting people similarly riled up in a smaller scale.

In fairness Tanahashi and Omega really skirted the line with their feud based on hating each other's matches that was getting people similarly riled up in a smaller scale. But they skirted the line in a way that made sense; tradition versus the new generation. It was an argument on a basis of style and strategy, it made perfect sense within that context. Nothing in there screamed "This is bad and fake", it played around with the line and used it to enrich a narrative of two very different wrestlers stepping into the ring together. That's exactly where I draw the distinction; that used real life elements within the story without actually breaking through the fourth wall, and it did so in an artistic decision meant to add something to the story they told in the ring. This is just disjointed nonsense sitting off to the side where she calls the show fake and we're supposed to believe she's going to commit felony assault in a wrestling ring.

When Ronda was coming in it was Triple H and Stephanie saying “This is wrestling, you’re just an MMA fighter.” They basically buried UFC. Now Ronda is burying wrestling because she has legit MMA experience. What a difference a year makes.
There are a ton of smart fans pissed at Ronda for saying wrestling is fake. Understandable but I also understand it’s a work. A lousy one for sure. A magician isn’t going to draw a huge audience saying all his tricks are fake. That’s just bad business. This part of the angle is playing out on social media rather than their television presentation. It’s targeting the “smart” fan. It seems to be working based on the response this is getting.
Part of me wonders if Ronda is really going away after Mania and we’re being persuaded to be happy to see her go. That way WWE isn’t losing a star. They’re dropping someone fans no longer wanted to see. Smart fans tend to be the most vocal and the most uninterested in a lot of stuff. WWE loves to work smart fans. Work them with this angle and then work them into being happy to see Ronda go feels like a win / win for the WWE to me.

Y'all are talking about how stupid the shirt is, and I'm over here focused on how much that apostrophe in "t-shirt's" is bugging me.

It's almost like when people know wrestling is scripted, the appeal for it becomes that of regular media, and working within those fictional lines creates an appealing and interesting product that keeps people engaged, while WWE spends half its shows peeing off a bridge and onto your head below while drunkenly jeering about how it's raining and you don't have an umbrella. Wrestle Kingdom kind of (inadvertently) legit flipped a switch on my entire life and outlook. Ronda's not touching that.

I wonder if WWE would let this go as far as to have Ronda squash a jobber they name "Kay Fabulous" or something equally ridiculous.

I remember feeling very confused in Rocky 3, when at the start of the movie, Rocky refused to fight Thunderlips because he said Terry Bollea was just a phony wrestler, and refused to fight Mr. T because he was just a C-level actor, then in the middle of the movie he called out Mike Tyson for an officially sanctioned boxing match.
Of course, 30 years later I still remember Rocky 3 as a great movie.
30 minutes after WM35, no one will remember Ronda Rousey, or care.

I was going to re-up my network subscription for Mania due to the card shaping up pretty nicely, but then this feud went to shit.
This Ronda garbage has actively turned me away from giving the PPV a chance and I'm a pretty easy-going viewer. This isn't selling the show. The feud was already sold on the fact that they didn't get to have their match at Survivor Series. Everything they've done has actively taken away from a story that was already built for them. It being a worked shoot makes me roll my eyes. There's nothing smart or cool about someone that previously worked 11 months in this company with the intention of going along with the ruse deciding to suddenly say "HA! GOTCHA! THIS IS ALL FAAAAAAKE!" a month before they leave. That's so stupid, man.
This whole thing seems like damage control to me. Ronda was getting boos and everyone started to panic over it, so they decided to do this silly "go say it's fake" angle to make it seem like THIS is the reason she has heat. And it's not even for the viewing audience. Becky and Charlotte are working to keep the feud relevant and interesting, but Ronda's whole thing is working to derail this. A story that should have been about Becky's rise to the top of the company is just...nonsense at this point.

Time to bring some levity here.
When Bobby Heenan first broke into wrestling he told his mother that the whole thing was fake, his mother told him “of course it’s fake Bobby, otherwise you wouldn’t be able to do it.”

Amanda Nunes should start selling 'Break Ronda' shirts. While Holly Holm sells "I loosened the cap for ya" shirts.

The weirdest element of Wrestle Kingdom was a kid dressed up as Kushida. And, while that became a meme, that didn't overshadow the match Kushida had with Ishimori. WWE's major matches leading up to its biggest show features a convoluted storyline where a guy has to overcome a gauntlet match just to get a title shot to face off against a pretentious eco warrior, an absentee champion defending against a guy who's spent the past few weeks doing a reunion tour, and this. And that's just heading to the show. We can only imagine the nonsense that's going to be on the Kickoff with the Andre & whomever Asuka's going to be stuck facing. They should all just fight for shampoo commercials (and/or belts/championships) dammit!

"Avoid offending the easily offended by warning them off by wearing this shirt."
So does that mean that if Becky wears this shirt, Ronda will go away?

"Avoid offending the easily offended by warning them off by wearing this shirt." So does that mean that if Becky wears this shirt, Ronda will go away? Is Ronda cleverly playing the other side of the "you pathetic, Millennial snowflakes!" debate, by being the person who is actually easily offended and triggered (coincidentally, the sort of person most likely to wear a t-shirt that's designed to offend people)? Probably not, but it does seem like a neat coincidence.

Personally that shirt is the coolest thing Rhonda has done imo. Of course I don't watch this crap and haven't since she got there. Last Mania was the final straw for me. But from the things I gather on here. This is best thing she's done. And I think it worked.

The only thing broken is Ronda’s soul after Amanda Nunez took it. "Don't you ever say Rodimus Prime was better than Optimus!"

I'm struggling to think of a stupider shirt, and this is the industry that produced the Always Pounding Ass Bar and Grill and Blue Pants shirts.
But take off the kayfabe line and it is a damn fine shirt.
