Rondo and SotN probably aren't happening, due to the Sony Exclusivity they paid for when they published Requiem. Unless that was just time-limited. I'd like to see Castlevania X68K in there, and think it's got enough differences from the NES game to warrant an inclusion. Also, if Hard Corps ends up in the Contra Collection, restore the ability to take 3 hits per life that the Japanese version had. If it is time limited, Konami could just have Dracula X on the first Collection and then include both RoB & SotN on a more Metroidvania focused release in when the exclusivity contract expires.

I'm just wondering if this is the American Castleania 3 or the more sane Japanese one.

No big surprises, figured Rondo and SotN wouldn’t be on there because they just got a PS4 re-release a few months ago. What’s the price on this? I’d consider it for $20, but all of those, except Kid Dracula, I have on other consoles so I’m not willing so spend much on it.

8 Classicvania Titles on this and then 8 Metroidvania tiles on volume 2 later (Rondo of Blood, Symphony of the Night, GBA games, DS games) would make sense.
Don't know why they went with Adventure and not Adventure Rebirth given that basically everyone agrees that the original GB title is garbage.

Castlevania collection sounds like an utter waste of time. Feels like the only reason to get it is to encourage them to make a second one that has some of the later games on it.

Shame they basically completely deny the existence of the N64 Castlevania games because I'd like to see Legacy of Darkness on there. For one this seems to be mostly based on the NES era games. For Two, Castlevania 64 aren't particularly well remembered. Certainly not as well as the NES/SNES/PS games, and even at the time the controls were pretty messy. Maybe if they make a 3d-Vania collection it'd show up as the first attempt at it... but I'd really be surprised if they ever do that.

Feels like people only started hating on Simon's Quest because of AVGN. It's a good game and it's the first "Metroidvania" style game in the series (unless you consider the more nonlinear MSX2 version of the first Castlevania a "Metroidvania," but I personally don't). It's nothing like CV1 or CV3 and it has its quirks, but I liked it.
That said, I would've easily traded CV Adventure, Kid Dracula, and Belmont's Revenge for Legacy of Darkness.
The first CV64 isn't, and for good reason. It's pretty bad. But Legacy of Darkness has become something of a cult favorite among series fans in the years since it was originally released.

Arcade collection is out right now, I'm going to predict that we're getting the GB kid Dracula for the Castlevania Collection

I'm glad Contra's getting a collection release, but man Konami is really padding this out with variants of the same game several times.

MSX2 Gryzor/Kontora could have been included to help make the numbers.

The Contra one looks promising. The Castlevania one is pretty dire, especially with them not doing the Metroidvania style ones. Aria of Sorrow gets shafted yet again.

The Castlevania one definitely feels like Konami making the release of a Collection 2 entirely dependent on sales of Collection 1. "Want your GBA and DS Castlevanias? Better shell out some cash for Adventure and NES Kid Dracula then or no dice."

I wanna get this collection, but it's really such a shame that they included Adventure instead of Adventure Rebirth. I don't know if maybe they have some kind of exclusivity deal with Nintendo for that or whatever but like, Adventure is a pretty bad game. Adventure Rebirth was really good.
