I know that it's a common practice for people to use "the Cody GIF" whenever we talk about individuals who may be on their way out of WWE or another company, but let's look at people that probably aren't going to be in AEW anytime soon, if ever. This list might not be big, and you know you should never say never in pro wrestling, but I think it might be a more creative exercise to determine some people that AEW aren't looking at in their sights. Right now, I'm sticking with people are that in the independent scene or could potentially be suitors for angles down the road.
*The former Big Ass: Politically the exact opposite of the Elite, sucks in the ring, AEW can bring in more "big" guys who can do more than just stand around and talk about how tall they are.
*Sexy Star: Too much baggage, bad work ethic, enemies in the industry.
*Kongo Kong: Literally will work for peanuts. As in, actual peanuts. AEW wants their talent to have standards, for goodness sake!
*Any ECW alumni not named "Tommy Dreamer", "Raven", or "Bully Ray": There's likely a few additional exceptions, but we're working on a sliding scale here, so I doubt we'll see them reach out for Simon Diamond, for example.
There's a few more I'm going to think of, but this is surface level.

If they wanna be taken seriously on TV then they gotta stay away from Joey Ryan.
BTE spots are one thing...but the penis schtick isn’t gonna fly on TV if they wanna be on a channel people can actually find on their cable.

Possibly Enzo and Alberto because while both guys actually have some big plusses they’ve repeatedly shown they have a toxic locker room presence.
Although given his recent album sales Enzo could probably bring as much of a fan base to AEW as Cody. And by that I mean 2007 Cody.

I actually think Enzo could be a risk worth taking. If they could just use him for his advantages and successfully rein him in the guy could obviously add something. If he slips up, oh well no huge loss.

Hopefully any promotion just starting up will look to the past problems from other promotions and avoid those wrestlers. As Akeem note: Hulk Hogan, Eric Bischoff and Vince Russo specifically.
