Sure. I mean it's not like there's a brand split or anything.

So we're gonna get to see AJ vs Angle one last time and y'all are mad. Gotcha.

Lemme guess, it'll be a dope match that Orton will interrupt in the end putting more heat on him.

If Kurt genuinely is retiring at Wrestlemania, why not get all of the dream matches out of the way?
Of course, it just makes the current WM match look even worse in comparison.... Why care about Angle vs. Corbin when Angle vs. AJ is happening on Smackdown

We're so close to Angle/Bryan, dammit! I'm not gonna complain about AJ/Kurt, I'm glad they're doing it, but Angle/Bryan and then Angle/Rollins would be so ideal.

Then Teddy Long will come back and make it a tag match

Since he announced this farewell tour I’ve wanted him to get at least one last match on Smackdown. He was such an important part of it from 2000-2006. Facing AJ is just bonus.

They then realize Teddy has no power and they, uhh, get hamburgers. Or Orton stabs AJ with an Asian Spike.

Probably not the biggest thing to happen that night, thanks to the Kofi story.

I get the importance of making the announcement in front of his hometown crowd in Pittsburgh a few weeks back, but man, it feels like WWE missed an opportunity for the Kurt Angle retirement tour to be so much more meaningful if he announced it back in January, a la Ric Flair's retirement plans in 2008. Now, they're just going to rush through these dream matches over the course of two weeks leading up to WrestleMania and miss out on a handful of potential matches in the process.
Also, because it hasn't been said enough, but, Baron Corbin? C'mon.

Now, they're just going to rush through these dream matches over the course of two weeks leading up to WrestleMania and miss out on a handful of potential matches in the process. Also, because it hasn't been said enough, but, Baron Corbin? C'mon. That’s my issue with it. This should be a bigger deal than it is and should be more story context but it just...happened. Kurt got jobbed a few times, barely did anything important and then suddenly goes “I’m retiring” and people are supposed to be way into it now? From a story standpoint, just say Angle was allowed to choose who he wants to face on his retirement tour and he can go on any brand for that. It wouldn’t take too long to say and it’d be a good way to explain away why he’d go to Smackdown to face Styles. But also...dude lost to Corbin and McIntyre in about 3 minutes each, why should I CARE he’s facing AJ Styles? Styles should be able to smack him in the face and win by knock out. And yeah, you can rebuild him and make him better in a short time but a lot of this stuff wasn’t THAT long ago. And as repeatedly pointed out, all of this is either a) leading to him facing Corbin or b) leading to a swerve and Cena beats up Corbin before the match, takes his spot and we get Cena/Angle with zero build. Both scenarios honestly suck and I REALLY want to care about Angle retiring.

I’d say this retirement is building to a “for real” one later but I don’t think Kurt has kind of time.
