Samoa Joe on Vince Russo writing the kidnapping angle: I just bring this up because when I see Joe and Russo. I just think Joe ripping Russo. He did it twice!! He had Flair kidnapped in wcw and Ric returned later without explanation! Can we all agree no more kidnapping storylines in wrestling? The Wyatt 's kidnapped Kane TWICE! With zero explanation either time. Kane just came back like nothing happened... TWICE!

"Samoa Joe's promos were one dimensional" says man who put world title on Abyss In fairness James Mitchell was the manager of Abyss at the time and in my opinion that package was really good up until the Sting storyline started and Abyss never recovered from the "Chris \ Abyss" nonsense .

When joe came back, he was talking about "THEY" are coming, but then he got suspended and it was switched to Abyss.

I get #1, but if you notice, Joe's weight gain/work rate was usually kind of a reflection on how he was getting booked. When he was being booked well, he was more in shape and ready to roll. When he was being booked like crap, he wasn't. Whether that was entirely professional or not is debatable, but Joe was definitely one to let one know when he was/wasn't happy. As for #2...I somewhat get that point as well, but then again, he probably didn't know he was doing the job until the last minute most of the time, so, what was he supposed to do? He was the bad ass. Of course he was going to go out there and talk about messing people up. Yeah, it hurt him when he was losing all the time (the same way Dolph Ziggler's promo style did when he was booked to lose 85% of the time), but he really shouldn't have been losing most of the time. That was the mistake. 1. I can understand that, but it's his job to be in shape and ready no matter what they have for him. You can't make him the face and cater to someone who has motivation problems if they aren't ready because they're not happy.

See, that's what makes it worse. When he put the world title on Abyss, Mitchell was *immediately* distanced from him and that whole angle started. Like, literally on week 1 or 2 of him holding the belt.

"Samoa Joe's promos were one dimensional" says man who put world title on Abyss Abyss' promos were two-dimensional, bro. First dimension grunts second dimension falling on thumbtacks He couldn’t cut promos until Joseph Park and the less said about the Mick Foley admitted impersonator and Green Lantern Abyss era the better.

I think the kidnapping angle was Bischoff's idea. When joe came back, he was talking about "THEY" are coming, but then he got suspended and it was switched to Abyss. Joe says it’s Russo’s fault. Joe may blame russo, but it doesn't mean he's right. Russo is blamed for everything but Russo wasn't in charge of decision making.

He was the head writer it happened on his watch, it was his idea, he did it before in wcw. Bischoff took control until later when Russo was removed and replaced by Prichard.

James Mitchell told Abyss that he was the Willie E Coyote of wrestling because all of his weapons ended up turning against him.

The ninjas kidnapping Samoa Joe, happened in the eighteen of february in 2010, he then returned in April without any explanation. Bound for Glory happened the tenth of October of 2010, the day inmortal was created. You’re wrong with your dates. Joe’s kidnapping had nothing to do with Inmortal or Hogan and Bischoff, this was just another Russo idea that failed in the past just like it failed in 2010.

Joe had a pretape in March which ended with the words "They have spoken", so yeah, he was s'posed to have something to do with it. His role was nixed, allegedly for, of all things, him still getting cheered for beating people up. Now, him getting replaced by Abyss because of the suspension is most likely wrong, because Abyss had started in with "They have spoken" prior to the suspension even happening.

The argument is that the kidnapping was to set up Inmortal, it did not. Joe just returned without explanation about what happened. His return was six months before Inmortal started. Was this pretape done in the months before BFG 2010?

Knowing Vince Russo's past I'd say his reasoning is because Joe wasn't a white guy.
