Not to derail the topic, but Tatanka's heel turn sounds like a Russo swerve. Was he booking for them at the time, or was he Vic Venom, the editor for the magazine at the time? That angle has Russo written all over it. Although, in the end I'm not sure it made much sense... since the whole goal was to frame Luger as if he sold out, only to be like "NAH I sold out!" So, what was Tatanka's and DiBiase's endgame? My question is: What if Luger opted to actually sell out during the process? Like, Would/Tatanka just be like uh.....I sold out too! *high five!*

Luger: "Hey buddy, check this out. I just sold out and I feel amazing!" Tatanka: "Uhhhh.... k." Luger: "And I'll tell you who else sold out.... Bret Hart!" Tatanka: "He did?" Luger: <nudge> Tatanka: "Oh, that's right! He did! Bret Hart sold out! He's one of us now...I mean, one of them!"

The talent in the Corporation was mid-card at best, and had nowhere near the personality of the Horsemen or the NWO. It was a mishmash of guys I couldn’t take seriously as singles stars, let alone a stable.
The Tatanka heel turn was something I saw coming a mile away, but all he did was add a scowl and swagger. Changing his attire would have helped him somewhat, but no. Instead, he’s just another mid-carder in a not very good stable.

As a stable it was dull I also hated DiBiase's jacket with the sequins during that time. Ironically it looked cheap

I liked Tatanka's heel turn. He beat the shit out of Luger, then Dibiase told him to go back and beat some more shit out of him.

If the corporation had been around in 1988 or even 1992, it probably would have been seen much better. Those time periods would be when most of the guys were at their peaks. But by 1994-1995 it seemed pretty bad and just kind of thrown together. But 1994-1995 was a poor time period overall, they couldn't do much.
I think Tatanka is the ultimate good guy, if you've ever met him in person he's just very nice. He probably couldn't play the sell out heel any better and creative couldn't make it any better. Lex, though I will defend and say he's a lot nicer than some fans give him credit, could've played the sell out better especially considering how his face turn didn't work out as well as planned and the fans obviously took more liking to Bret Hart over Lex.

It was just such a hodgepodge of guys that it was weird. A Dibiase stable is a good idea, they just crammed it with random dudes

"No Lex you sold out! You sold out Lex! It's so obvious Lex you sold out! You sold out to the Million Dollar Man! You sold out! You sold out! Lex you sold out! You sold out!"-Tatanka in every interview in the summer of 1994

One thing that definitely hurt the Tatanka heel turn is that the Fake Undertaker squashed him on Superstars in the build to Summerslam. Now they could’ve explained it later like he took a dive as part of him selling out, but they didn’t. As a kid, I remember that hurting his mystique a lot. When he lost to Borga, he was hit with a chair and ganged up on. But here, the obviously fake Undertaker just straight up beat him and he looked like a punk.

Poor Tatanka needed a refresh and I'm sure creative knew it. It started with the loss to Ludvig Borga, which was meaningless in the short and long run because they not only did nothing with him but he would be gone in five months. Around that time he stopped with the red hair dye which was making him loss some hair. But this took away a little of the Native American mystique about him. He had a makeshift feud with Bam Bam, who he had already beat six months earlier. He was supposed to be in a throw away 10 man tag, which was scrapped at WrestleMania and he didn't make it past a PPV first round of the King of the Ring. I can't remember who won matches during his IRS feud but by mid 1994 IRS was no longer much use on the roster anyway.

He went to black/darker tights and lost the blue/red/tan ones, I'd thought....

I'm not sure if he'd been injured, but he seemed to bulk up and move a bit slower in 1994. While never amazing, in 92/3 he had a lot of fire and energy that helped get him over, almost like a Tito Santana in terms of size and style. While he had darker tights, that just made all of his gear blend together, and he didn't really act any different. If he'd have say, gone to long tights, at least dropped all the tassels and worked a different style, maybe mocking all the Native American stereotype bits he did as a face it would have mixed it up more and given him more momentum.

I mean, I get that Fake Taker needed a big win but there could have been at last a little bit of shenanigans with DiBiase distracting Tatanka or something

Right. It's like when Ricky Morton joined the York Foundation in 1991, but didn't change from his Rock'n'Roll Express gimmick one iota, so he looked like a total goober in this "corporate" stable.
