Why did they do the ending last week if they were just going to do this ending this week? The visual of Kofi running through a gauntlet to earn his spot is much better than his friends winning by forfeit to earn it. Whatever. The end result was the right one so congrats to Kofi for his big break. Great talent finally getting a chance to shine. I thought it was great. His best friends desperately fighting to get kofi to the match It also keeps both woods and big e strong and relevant even if they are not in the match itself.

I reeeeally hope they have the "real" title on standby. A decade+ journey ending with getting a semi comedic hemp belt would really cheapen things for me. (Assuming Kofi wins). Eh, they kept the spinner through multiple non-Cena champions. I'm fine with the new belt.

So which one is costing Kofi the title at Mania? Big E would be the obvious choice but they might throw us a curveball like Rollins with the Shield and have it be Woods.

Outside of the smoking skull belt I've never really liked custom titles. I don't even like the name plates on the side.

I hope they are about to destroy the hemp belt during a celebration on Raw & Bryan can somehow get it & wear it around as the planet’s champion.

People keep saying "lol nothing changed since they said it would" then becky wons rumble and to a much greater extent, they go with the hot hand in Kofi who was not even in their world title view prior.

Way back in December, did anyone ever imagine that Kofi would be the hottest babyface right now not named “Becky Lynch”, much less getting a shot at the WWE Title?

Since this angle started properly heating up, it's rapidly become a favourite of mine. They actually are doing what the fans want for once, and it's beautiful, and the Usos forfeiting is one of my favourite babyface moments of all time immediately. The crazy thing, that really says it all about just how poorly WWE treats their day-to-day talent, is that this is Kofi's first singles match at Mania. I don't agree with this assessment at all. To be honest, I've always thought Kofi kinda sucked. Decent midcard face, but his promos were poor even after he dropped the accent. His character was nonexistent and he did nothing but rack up loads of midcard title wins that didn't matter. He got great at promos with New Day, which is a tag team gimmick that until recently didn't work divorced from the other two (and indeed, now, only works when with the other two, which is some weird kind of one-off in wrestling). I always maintain that if I was a wrestling promoter, I would listen to what the audience wanted provided a guy was safe in the ring and over enough, rather than pushing my own favourites - but Kofi has never been over enough to get that kind of push anyway. Before this angle I'd never have put him in a singles match at Mania, and I don't think that's remotely a criticism of their booking.

Looks great on the whole, but the #ELEVEN is really dopey. Cool call back to the Bryan YES shirt though. Do really like all the mirrors in this angle.

I won't be watching, but I still really hope they go with Kofi. The WWE Title might mean very little right now, but with Bryan, you can trust he'll do everything he can to make the guy look like a superstar. So the match should rock, and there's an easy feel good moment to aim for, it shouldn't be hard to f*** up. Also it'd just be great to see something genuinely nice come out of this company again. They get so hung up on over-manufacturing every "WWE moment" that they need to remember that sometimes you just don't need to try so hard.
