Okay so it was actually March 24 so I missed it by a few days! Anyway, it was called Raise the Curtain and was their last show...so far! I just checked their Twitter and they've been posting images of things like The Crow and Jason rising from the grave. So, I'm pretty sure its their coded way of saying they'll give it another go soon. Here are the results for what is their last show to date: www.cagematch.net/?id=1&nr=196006I actually really loved WrestleCircus. While people can pick apart some of their business decisions, the owner and his wife and brother did a lot of good things. Like become the first promotion to work with Twitch. More importantly though from everything I've heard they treated and paid all their workers really well. The only worker I recall ever having a problem with them was Jack Evans and that seemed to be more because of his lifestyle (not having a bank account or anything) than anything else.

I can’t believe they’ve been gone that long already. I remember them setting up some kind of go fund me to get into a bigger venue because they couldn’t fit all their fans in the old one anymore. When people pointed out that if they’re doing such great business they could afford it themselves things went south rather quickly for them.

I mean...sure, the shows were interesting and the belts were straight fun, but they were absolutely TERRIBLE with financials and didn't really offer much from a homegrown talent that people couldn't tune into on other promotions. That, combined with companies like AAA and Impact now frequently streaming on Twitch as well, there really isn't much of an audience for them anymore.
I wish them well, but I doubt we'll see much of anything from them aside from MAYBE one more show that puts the final nail in the coffin.

When people pointed out that if they’re doing such great business they could afford it themselves things went south rather quickly for them. It was to be a bit of everything from what I remember, a venue for shows (more than just them), a school, a gym, and a couple of other things I forget. It would have been interesting to see what would have happened if they succeed with that, either on their own or with fan support. I know they didn't run cheap in terms of talent (and they seem to have lost a lot on the Dallas and Houston? shows) but that is what made them interesting, IMO. It gave me the names I wanted to see but also introduced me to Extra Talent-ed, Unholy Gregory James, and Sammy Guevara. Plus it got me out of Dallas which is always a good thing. One other thing that has a hand in distracting them from wrestling was finding out they were expecting their first kid sometime not too long after the last show. I don't know that they could ever recapture the magic they had prior but I'd love to be there and try.

Honestly, I'd heartedly welcome back WrestleCircus, it was a fun show, and Al and crew seem like good people. I'd rather have a company that burns out quick and does right by their talent than one that screws everyone over, leaves a trail of salt, but sticks around forever. Also, we got The Process out of it, and gave us the best Scorpio Sky gimmick before SCU formed.
Hopefully, they can find the balance between finances and fun, and make it work. Texas deserves to have a promotion that's fun and works.

Eh, they lost me forever when they started asking for the fans to buy them a building.

No date announced yet, but over Mania weekend it was announced over on Twitter that WrestleCircus would be returning this year.

I’m sure there’s reasons to do it, but for people like me who might actually travel from out of town for the show, losing the bonus of a Friday or Saturday night in Austin and having to take a Monday off is something to weigh.

There are pluses and minuses to everyday of the week. Friday and Saturday are obviously the days when the most people go out for entertainment events, but that doesn’t mean other days are no goes. Speaking of Beyond I believe they’re running their weekly show on Wednesday. That can actually work great as tons of wrestlers would like to work more days per week and nobody runs Wednesday. While others run Sunday can allow for things like reduced competition and the aforementioned cheaper venue.

Eh, they lost me forever when they started asking for the fans to buy them a building. Except... they didn't. Which has already been pointed out. A lot. And most didn't actually look into the situation before jumping to conclusions on social media when it happened. They did a crowd funding campaign to, yes... get a building that would be the location of all of the shows, and a wrestling school, etc., but they weren't asking for handouts. They had various levels of items that fans would get for a certain amount of money, like season ticket packages for people to pay up front for tickets to all the shows, and buy merch, etc. They were asking that people pay for items they already wanted, they weren't asking for handouts just to get a building. But whatever. People like to perpetuate this as somehow a bad thing they tried to do. They lost a bunch of their own money to give wrestling fans another product to follow. How dare they try to advance their business at the time by finding a central location for everything, and maybe eventually turn a profit? Terrible people, clearly.

So the card is there on Twitter, but the company has not updated it’s FB in almost a year, including any information about this return show. Were it not for this board I would have no idea the show was happening. Am I way behind the times or is this just not good marketing?

They keep changing how and when posts are seen that without paying it has to be hard to get seen. Twitter is at least free (for now) and makes it easier to interact with wrestlers and fans. I'd think they would at least update FB though.

Social media posts make it look like the show was a blast. Apparently they’re back on South Congress in Austin as well. For me at least the venue was a big part of why the company was successful, so that’s great to see.
Next show June 23rd, card announced tomorrow and tickets go on sale an hour later.

It was a lot of fun, but it's a little weird, because a lot of guys who were booked on the show are either signed to Impact now or are heading to AEW, so it's making some people scratch their heads, especially with the main event turning out how it did. Impact I'm guessing isn't a problem, since the Rascalz and Sami Callihan pop up in different companies all the time, but it's making me wonder how exclusive AEW is going to be. Granted, there's still what, about 5 months before AEW goes to TV officially? A lot can change in that time. It's just going to be weird how much the landscape of WrestleCircus may change in that time. Still, it was a fun show, and I'm glad they're back.
