David Glass in talks to sell the Royals for around 1 billion dollars. Glass no longer being an owner isn't just good for the Royals, it's good for baseball.

Pete Alonzo has set the Mets home run record with 42.
The Mets in true fashion, are losing so far.

Cashman forgot the last time he won a WS was when he paid for front line pitching (Sabathia and AJ Burnett, even though the latter didn’t live up to expectations). I’m pulling for the Yanks because them being great is good for baseball, but that rotation up against Houston is a bad matchup.

I almost feel bad for Milwaukee. Every 2nd half is a nightmare for them. Don't. Almost the entire pitching staff is so bad that I can't think of anything other than "At least we're not Baltimore!" This is why I hate this team so f***ing much. Shit pitching and management won't do a goddamned f***ing thing to correct it. We will never make it back to the playoffs with this core, let alone win a World Series.

I’m pulling for the Yanks because them being great is good for baseball, but that rotation up against Houston is a bad matchup. He hedged his bets on JA Happ (which obviously hasn't work out) and having a loaded bullpen. Though to be fair to Cashman, he also did this all counting on Louis Severino being the ace instead of out for most of the season with a bizarre injury. At least German's really come through for the most part. There's also a lot of hype behind Garcia in AAA, though we've also seen our fair share of stud pitching prospects not really work out lately.

I can't really blame Cash for not making trades this year. In his mind, Sevy and Betances (potentially) coming back is just as good as any trade they can make Also, besides that the Yankees really have assets they don't want to give up and the assets are dwindling down. They have prime young bats like Frazier and ANdujar both who have shown in the majors they can hit but defense is suspect but you only trade them for a premium arm

Dunno who’s had an uglier slugging decline as of late, MattCarp or Chris Davis. Yikes.

Dunno who’s had an uglier slugging decline as of late, MattCarp or Chris Davis. Yikes. Is Carpenter fighting his manager in the dugout? Davis contract is not trade-able, he's fighting his own manager, and he can't find himself to hit past .120. At least Carp can be buried in the fact the Cardinals usually do good

Wong has been hitting, Edman is a pleasant surprise, nd with Goldy extended and DeJong there's our infield. The sooner they take Carp's ABs the better.

Very quietly JD Martinez has been one of a handful of the best hitters in baseball over the last 5 years.

Well, NL Cy Young is down to Scherzer vs deGrom right now. Ryu's dropped to 3rd with his last few starts.

I don’t know if the Cubs will make the playoffs. But whatever happens, the Nicholas Castellanos trade couldn’t have worked out any better. He’s been unbelievable, including 2 more homers today.

*sigh* Sorry, but this pisses me off. This guy was living his dream, playing on a good team with probably the best player, had a wife, and was making money. So one night, his dumb ass goes, "Hey, I KNOW how stupid and dangerous this could be, and I know of hundreds of people who have died doing this...but f*** it...I'm going to go ahead and pop some pills, do drugs, and chase them with alcohol. Surely, I'll be ok." After all the emotions and tributes this guy got, to find out he got drugged up and choked on his own vomit really just really doesn't sit well with me. There is a well known opioid crisis going on, and more than ever, there are ways to get help. And especially if you're a professional athlete, you can get treatment very easily. And who cares if an Angels' employee gave him the drugs? That person should be arrested and dealt with, but ultimately Skaggs chose to down pills known to be dangerous and chase them with alcohol. Just flat out f***ing stupid. I have known a lot of people with addictions, including my own sister, who realized they needed help, and sought it out. And I know addiction doesn't care if you're rich, poor, famous, or not...but Skaggs had way more opportunities than most to get help. And if this was the first time he did it, than he's even dumber than I thought. Sorry if this offends anybody, but opioids are killing a lot of people everyday. This shit isn't new. I just can't feel bad for somebody who seemed to have it all, and kills himself with pills and alcohol. Wake the f*** up. This just makes me angry. Now Skaggs' friends and family have to play out a bunch of "What ifs" and shit and try to see if there were any warning signs. Again, I've experienced this personally a few times. You can only do so much and feel so bad for so long. And the people I know aren't major leaguers. Skaggs should and probably did know what he was doing was reckless and dangerous, and he did it anyways. Way to let a lot of people down, jackass.

This Yankee offense is really pissing me off tonight, very Met life, just give up. I expect better.
And what is with Boone's love affair with Garen, all week he can't wait to use him I have seen enough of him this week to know he stinks. This is not the time to experiment. God help us you have to rest everybody.
I am very disappointed in the Yankees, you think they be movitaed to get revenge on the A's, but they flat again, and at home, this is unacceptable. This Yankee offense got to bo better than this.

Kevin Pillar just took a 97 MPH fastball to the jaw, didn’t even take a knee, and stayed in the game.
Holy fxxx, that dude is a badass.

It actually ricocheted off his shoulder first, but still he’s a tough SOB.
