Kevin Pillar hit his 20th home run today. The first Giant to do such a thing since... 2015! Has Belt been injured over the years, what the f*** Belt seemingly gets a stupid random injury every single year, usually when he’s at his hottest and it derails the rest of the season... . Except this one, where he’s just been bad. Concussion from an errant throw during warmups. Emergency Appendix surgery. Knee surgery. He’s never hit more than 18 in a season... the last guy to do it was Crawford. The Giants can actually do it THREE TIMES (!) this year with both Yaz and Longoria sitting at 18. Belt has 16, and I guess he could still go on one of his yearly hot streaks, but i doubt it.

Giants got hit with real bad luck in terms of the mainstay guys falling off a cliff With Bochy gone, you should expect to see the new generation soon enough. Crawford, Belt served their purpose but time to turn that chapter. Crazy to think what could have been if Cain and Timmy actually lasted longer

Rosenthal reporting that the Yankees and Blue Jays had agreed to a deal for Ken Giles at the deadline for 3 prospects but Cashman backed out at the last minute. Would have been a huge add to the Yankees pen. They probably didn’t feel comfortable about his health.

Can't blame them on this, it would have been a great get but with the way the Yankees have been bitten by the injury bug this year, you don't want to take on uncertainty

Nice job shitting the bed Mets.
Diaz trade is going to go down as one of the worst we've done.

I just don't understand how I guy who can still throw 100 and a 92 slider can be so hittable after a historic year...and he's 25!
Did Jeff and Fred poison him or something?

So did deGrom f*** every teammate's wife and sisters?
Because the Mets constantly find a way to f*** it up for him. He gets no run support, and then when he gets support the bullpen just Mets it up.

In non-Mets news, George Springer had to be carted off at Miller Park during Houston's loss to Milwaukee. He had gone to catch a fly ball from Ryan Braun and ran right into the wall.

Before last night, the Mets had never lost a game when they're up by 6 or more in the 9th inning and the Nats had never won when down by 6 or more in the 9th inning. The Mets also had a 99.7% chance to win the game.

And another too little too late Mets win today. They may be fading from their playoff race, but I’m in a win and in situation in my fantasy league. Needed those DeGrom win points. I might not be able to forgive last nights meltdown.

Giants call up Jaylin Davis, who they got from Minnesota for Sam Dyson. He hit 35 HRs between AA & AAA this season.

I might not be able to forgive last nights meltdown. With Ryu falling apart (I think the Yankees broke him), it's down to Scherzer vs deGrom for Cy. And Scherzer might not be at 100%, so looking like deGrom is the front-runner.

Obviously I can't embed due to uncensored "f***" on-screen but here's some reaction from the Mets' epic collapse (LANGUAGE WARNING, OF COURSE): www.youtube.com/watch?v=fB-sceWLAS0
