I love how when they brought Batista back in early 2014 and expected the fans to cheer him (pre-Guardians of the Galaxy), they booed the hell out of him.
Now it's 2019 and they want him to be a detestable heel, but c'mon. He's Drax. WWE can never get on the right side of Batista history.

Triple H has this weird-ass dichotomy of wanting to go out as the beloved hero, but also having been his own version of Ric Flair/4 Horsemen. You can't have it both ways.

We don't deserve Batista. The man's a legend! I did have a thought, about how people are wondering how he's the face, after attacking Ric... remember, Ric's the "dirtiest player in the game". The party could've been seen as H putting himself over, instead of honoring Flair, so, he had Dave help him "plan" an attack. I could also be wrong.  Man, if Ric came out and cost HHH the match that would be so, so awesome. It really would be a welcome swerve and they could play up how the "beatdown" was never actually seen. |

God just watching the short promo on RAW back it's telling how Batista's movie experience probably influenced how things were shot. First you had Batista saying 'Kiss My Ass, Hunter' then simple having the camera pan with him as he turned around in front of the 'Mania sign. Much better than the overdone *point to the 'Mania sign to intensify feud* tactic that most people do generically during 'Mania season.  |
