That’s two tonights! How redundant! I saw a number of posts about the WWE stars appearing on the Tonight Show, so I figured I would make a thread to let anyone know that may want to tune in/seek out clips. Seeing Drew McIntyre and Jimmy Fallon in the same frame really puts it all into perspective, and I'll let everyone else decide which direction that works in.

Fallon may be no Craig Ferguson but he's still the best late night guy right now by several million miles.

Jimmy Fallon is not funny. But... listen to all the laughs he gets! From himself, of course, but still... He's the one late night host that I just won't watch clips of, no matter how much I like the person he's interviewing. He's so obsequious and grating, and desperate to be funny. |

I suspect Fallon is in those same photos, as part of a gravy covered orgy with numerous other top-tier SNL types. That mainstream brand of funny all seems pretty much in the same family these days. Fallons not there to reinvent the wheel. He's just a likeable and warm personality to put his guests over. I'm not the biggest fan of his but theres a reason he has held this gig for so long.

I watched the first episodes of his Late Night run when he replaced Conan because I was a fan of Fallon in SNL. It was really awful, in one of them, he had Drew Barrymore lick random stuff including a bicycle. This was in 2009 and the formula never changed. |
