I have a feeling this could the result. For no other reason than to troll and be controversial. It'll happen with some kind of shenanigans.

She might. OR SHE MIGHT NOT. SUSPENSE~!
I like the wrinkle of doubt that Charlotte has presented via her sheer presence. It stinks that Charlotte presents more "meta-drama" ("Are WWE really going to book another historical accolade to Charlotte?!") than actual, kayfabe drama ("Can Becky overcome these odds?") but it's still keeping me highly invested in the match, and you know what? ...I'm kinda digging the uncertainty.
That said, if there's any female on the roster adequately suited to take the wrath of the fan-base, it's Charlotte.

It's strange that Charlotte would be bothered about being in her father's shadow (potentially, I have to rely on comments here) considering a large portion of her gimmick is basically a Ric Flair tribute. She's got the robe, the woo, the remixed finisher, the remixed music, the strut and probably a few things I'm missing. The only way she could be more Ric is if she talked about Space Mountain all the time and started elbow dropping her jacket. This is not to take away from her non-Ric stuff which is great. However, if they want to move away from the nepotism she is so often accused off, they should start playing down her Ricisms. She's a world class talent and has proven that. It's time for her to move past Ric Flair tribute act.
Just to be clear, I know there is a lot more to her than Ric Flair tribute but it's kinda nutty just how much of his gimmick she uses.

It's easy to think that the WWE has eyes only for Charlotte, and that they want every big moment to belong to her. And in the past, that was true.
But it genuinely seems like the WWE wants to make Becky a star, that they really believe in her and are ready to hitch the Women's Division to her wagon. So I do think she's the most likely winner.
I can't imagine there are many voices backstage arguing for Charlotte to go over. Probably not even Charlotte herself, if the things she's said about her friendship with Becky are true.

As a Charlotte fan I would love nothing more than to see her win. But to me this is one of the easiest Mania matches to predict in years. Becky is walking out the champ. Nothing has happen since her winning the Rumble to change my mind.

I said this in another thread but since it's the main even I really can't see anything than Becky winning just because it'll be the closing visual of the show. If it wasn't on last then maybe but the footage will be run into the ground forever as the HISTORIC first ever women's main event. They won't want a negative crowd reaction tarnishing it forever.

I can't see any scenario in which she does. If anything I'm worried she's going to take the fall when if Ronda doesn't then that completely defeats the point of the match.

She hasn't, not really. She's the biggest star in the company bar Brock with the same credentials yet unlike him has had plenty of competitive matches with women she would feasibly steamroll through. I don't think there's any harm in protecting her legitimate badass aura by the corporate favourite Charlotte taking the pin. Charlotte doesn't need protected in the same way and is the add-on anyway.

In fairness, her April Fools' video was a joke about her leaving to become a sax player, so there's a chance that popular rumour is false. If Becky's winning, I'd rather her get the fall on Ronda just because Charlotte's already had to job to her so much since June. Its one of those things where its impressive how well fans have been worked despite Becky getting such heavily protected booking. Becky's won all the important matches between them clean (including winning the Rumble on one leg after already having had another match) and the ones she lost (Summerslam and SSD where she got herself disqualified) she beat up Charlotte afterwards anyway. Similarly, before that Asuka match Charlotte hadn't won a one-on-one match since November, but all it took to get fans fearful was just that one match.

I mean, I am confident Becky will win... but there’s also a tiny part of me that has the feeling they’ll get Charlotte to win so she can have yet ANOTHER title.

Becky had a Chronicle going into the FIRST EVER!!! Women's TLC match at TLC. She didn't win that night.
Having a Chronicle before a HISTORY MAKING!!! moment doesn't necessarily indicate success at said event.

I hope she does win. The reactions will be worth it. One small factor is that the next PPV is MITB. If Becky doesn’t win at Mania, they could always have her win MITB (after being runner up three times) and have her use it to torment whoever the champ is. That said, I still think she’s almost a lock for Mania—the only thing that gave me slight doubt was how unsubtle her victory lap SDL promo was.

I am a big fan of all three women. I don't care who wins.
Ronda wins, she's staying, and having more great matches, and I love Ronda especially as a heel.
Becky wins, that is the correct choice, WWE has listened, and she is the one who should win based on popularity.
Charlotte wins; Charlotte one of my favourite wrestlers on the roster, possibly ever. She's my favourite of the three.
Whoever wins, I go home marking out.
I mean, I'll be at home already.

Admittedly I've never seen a chronicle before and if what people here are saying is the case it's no indicator of a win.
I didn't really intend this thread as a declarative prediction or anything just a voicing of the niggling doubt that's been there the whole time - that despite how glaringly obvious it is that they should go with Becky, WWE can't resist the urge to slap the accolade of first female WM main event winner on Charlotte.

Nope. She doesn’t need it. This is Becky’s crowning moment. Kind of like Steve Austin at Mania 14. It’s just too obvious that she’s winning. Charlotte is in there because she can have a great Mania main event worthy match. Ronda is decent but she’s there for her name more than her ability to wrestle well enough to headline Mania. Becky is the most over performer in the company. This is an eight hour show. They need to send the fans home happy after sitting through all of that. It’s also the first time women are headlining Mania. Charlotte is there to make sure it comes off great. Becky must win for this to get over. She has to win for the match to go down in history as one of the greatest Mania moments. Otherwise it’s forgettable and it fails.

Even if Charlotte's not winning, she shouldn't even factor into the outcome of the match. She's great, but the match really is all about Becky vs. Ronda. That's what most people have been wanting to see at WM since Becky was taken out of Survivor Series and if they want Becky to be their face of the company, she needs to beat Ronda to win. Tapping out someone she's already beaten like a drum over the last 8 months doesn't do a whole lot for her.
