I have both systems and I will say that I do like my 360 more.

360's been out longer, so it has a better library.
That said, between the two, I'd stick with 360; cheaper, plus better online service. That said, if you don't like shooter games it may not be for you...X-Box definitely has more than just shooters, but that's a big part of their lineup.
I'm a Wii guy, though, so I'm not the ultimate authority.

I've got the 360 and love it, but have been gaming on my PC mostly as of late.

I'd say go with the 360 if you want a system right now. It usually takes at least a year for really good games to come out... so if you're not in that big a rush, I'd say wait a few months to see what the PS3 has in store for the rest of the year.
