I thought "currying favor" meant using your looks and charm to get what you want. Could be wrong though because it's been at least 20 years since I've heard anyone actually use the expression. Did you hear Becky’s promo last night? All that was missing was the “blowjob” gesture. I meant to everyone saying Lacey implied it herself. I didn't see Raw this week but I'm pretty sure Becky had a similar promo recently (last week? Two weeks ago?) that a lot of people rolled their eyes at. It's pretty lazy writing.

They're writing Becky as a babyface slut shamer, and Lacey saying she used her lady sexy ways to get ahead. You would think some 73 year old out of touch pervert was writing the storyline for a double champion during a.... let's see I got this right.... Woman's Revolution.

The shaming and accusing of improper influence on management is an old, old trope used against every attractive woman figure in pro wrestling, including Miss Elizabeth. In the #MeToo era, I suspect many creative teams are struggling with what will provoke a response from audiences that won't cross a line into offense, be it racism, sexism, homophobia, etc. However, the very essence of "fighting words" is in crossing a line so that fists fly. If we have to script such promos that don't even risk offending anyone, the entire point of delivering promos is lost and audiences lose any emotional investment in the match or feud.
I will fight for a woman's right to sexual agency as far as is ethical, but it remains unethical in pro wrestling (kayfabe) to use tools not related to wrestling ability to get an advantage or favoured treatment. It is not unethical to call perpetrators out on that behaviour. Lacey's own promo suggested that she had no moral qualms about gaining the upper hand by nefarious means. She should not be getting a pass simply because she's a woman.

Lacey's bragging about getting opportunities she didn't have to work for and "currying favor" backstage, so I believe it's completely fair for someone to call her out on it. Now we can have a discussion about whether Lacey's character should be doing these things, but I don't see anything wrong with Becky or anyone else being irritated that they bust their ass while Lacey uses something that has nothing to do with her fighting/wrestling abilities to get special treatment.

She preaches being a prim and proper but uses anything to get what she wants. She's a heel they can be shitty people.

To me the issue is less that Becky brought it up and more that they had Lacey imply it to start with. It just feels like a ridiculously reductive direction to take it in, especially given the strides the division has supposedly made, and I don't feel like Lacey being condemned for it is enough to make taking the story in that direction acceptable.

Exactly! I thought Lacey was just fine as a hypocrite who goes around sucker punching Becky while looking down on her for not being ladylike. It's such an easy feud to write without the extra stuff about Lacey sleeping around backstage.

I missed that segment on RAW last night, but didn’t Lacey basically insinuate that herself when she first came out to challenge Becky? Like the “curry favor with a man” stuff? WHICH yeah is still problematic and I don’t get why they’d do that with someone they intend to be a big deal but Becky didn’t pull it out of nowhere. Yeah she kept almost feeling herself up as she was making innuendos. The thing is, I get that she's a heel so she should be a bit hypocritical with this 'proper lady' stuff but there's a line where you just have to say this makes zero sense. This was part of that.

But isn’t part of Lacey’s character to do and say things that are counter to the Women’s Revolution environment? They had her insinuate using sex as a shortcut, it works for her character. People chanting slut is more on the audience member chanting it and less on the E. Other characters calling her on it is fine too because it helps highlight the morale/character/etc differences between the characters. Except there’s been zero evidence of anything of the sort happening. If they had shown Lacey backstage seducing referees or Vince or whatever, then that’s establishing that part of her character. All we’ve had is Becky imply she’s “backstage..if ye know what I mean.” It’s utter garbage. I suspect this was their attempt at a kayfabe explanation for why someone who has had zero on screen matches suddenly has a title match against Becky. It's a terrible choice but that's the only reason I can think of for it. My guess - they're just desperately fumbling for anything at all to get her a reaction at this point. It's almost as if having her endlessly come out, wave then leave wasn't enough to make anyone care about her.

I still think they should've turned Alexa face and fed her to Lacey for Lacey's first main roster feud.

Yeah, if the plan was to put her up against the top woman on the roster they really should have done something, anything to build her up as a threat/contender.
