Literally no one is happy in wwe right now I don’t blame this guy for wanting out. How can we say f*** wwe for Harper/Revival and not say it here?

I don’t care if you’re a veteran, carry your own damn bags. Yeah i don't do that stuff either. It actually got me kicked off a football team in high school. Was told to and i said something like "pick up your bags like an adult, or the emts will be picking up an adult in a bag". Good thing this was 17 years ago and not nowadays xD #TeenAngst

WWE does sound a pathetic place to work. Paying your dues, carrying water, carrying bags for the vets, wrestlers court, shaking hands with everybody. Paying your dues, carrying water and bags is part of sports. Are the MLB, NFL, or NBA terrible places to work? Are the countless major college sports programs who do this with new freshmen terrible schools to go to? It is part of sports culture.

The fact he's not getting royalties should be focused on more, that is a very bad look on the company in a time where they have a lot of those. But still, he doesn't really address much of the accusations against him, and him using race to defend not carrying water misses the point completely. LeBron James did it in his rookie year with the Cavs. WWE would be very furious he gave this interview, it'll only make his situation worse. But please address his royalties! What should he get royalties for? He doesn’t sell anything.

I actually agree with him.
Carry your own damn bags. I’m sick of this “paying dues” bullshit. You were signed, I was signed. We’re both doing the same job.

Some of those responses are great. “That is the kindest hazing I've ever heard of. Handing out water? Setting up for snacks? The HUMANITY.”

The paying dues BS is a horrible idea. The guy has worked in the indies and put his body on the line, shouldnt that be enough? I also hate the arguement well other professions do it, shouldnt we be the one who stops this petty BS then? Thats unacceptable. The other arguements are pretty valid too, but Lio is a bit of a hothead to be honest.

I am kinda torn here. On one hand, I agree with the idea that having someone signed from the indies having to "pay their dues" is ridiculous. They did pay their dues, its called "working the indies." Also not cool with the whole "carry my bags" deal, since that can escalate to where vets could make the rookie's life a living hell, just for the hell of it (i.e. Bradshaw). There's showing respect towards the vets, and then there's basically being their bitch.
On the other hand, making this about race? Dude...come on...unless the only guys that are being forced to do this are the same skin color, this has nothing to do with you being a black man, you just seem to being using that whole "others will look at a black man doing this in a negative light" as an excuse. And if that's the way that they do it there, even though I don't necessarily agree with how they do things, these are the guys that sign your checks, so like it or not, you do have to play by their rules. You don't get to be an exception. As you said, you're providing for your family and this is only going to make matters worse for them if you're putting your job at risk like this.

First off, this kind of very light hazing is common every workplace that is as tight-night as the WWE locker room. And it's actually kind of important in pro wrestling when you're putting your lives in the hands of everyone else in that locker room every single day. Most hazing is absolute bullshit, but the blow back against this is insane. It's a respect-driven profession, that shit ain't handed to you.

Lio doesn't get that hypothetically say he doesn't carry bags. That automatically makes him look better than those before him even if they're seniors. That's not being equal. He doesn't get that not having people get clearance backstage means he's better than the others, that's not equal. Not listening to seniors while others do doesn't make him equal.
He's spending a lot of time talking about equality but his actions and comments show us that he's not willing to be equal. The biggest thing I take from all this recent Lio news is that he doesn't seem to be a team player. He's done nothing to show he'd go out for the team. This isn't a regular 9-5 job, this is a team sport.

I already lost respect for Lio Rush after the Emma thing. This is pushing it to zero levels.

That's painting Lio in even more of a negative light to me. Unless the whole idea is scrapped, just flat-out stating that you're not gonna take part in something that others have done, especially when you're someone who doesn't already have the best track record backstage...unless you've got one or a couple of those seniors having your back, you're just placing a bigger target on your back.

If he does get fired he will be the envy of half the roster. Even Marty Jannetty would have trouble getting fired in the WWE today.

Yep. He just doesn't seem to be built for a team sport. I havent seen one story about him being a team player.
