One of my favorite WrestleManias ever! The location, the matches, the commentary team of Monsoon and Heenan, etc.. It really felt like a breath of fresh air, after a year of staleness.
What did you like about this event?

WrestleMania 8 will always be my favorite, mainly due to being a huge Savage mark and seeing him win the title. The atmosphere and venue also gave it that special feel as well. I think the opening matches of the card have historical meaning as well. You have Tito, Jake and Piper all future HOF’s and representatives of the old generation passing the torch to the next generation in Shawn Taker and Bret.

One of my favorites. I stopped watching wrestling from 1990 to 1995. I remember a local video store was closing and they had a bunch of tapes on sale for $5 each and this was among the first I picked up Great commentary, great visuals, great matches and a PPV that really felt like it was paving the way for the next generation

Definitely one of my favorite Manias and a huge step up from WM7, Hart/Piper and Savage/Flair are two of my favorite matches from that PPV. I rented this and Rumble 1992 tons of times from my local video store.

Until I saw 31 live, this was my favorite Mania. Commentary was perfect, and everything from Hogan's supposed retirement to Owen vs. Skinner was built to where we looked forward to seeing it. It doesn't matter if the match is a big-ticket match or not, the booking for this show is how you make it feel special.

The reasons I love it are a mix of nostalgia, aesthetics and the quality of the matches.
1) It was the first Wrestlemania I watched live (on tv, not in person) 2) I had virtually the entire roster in my action figure collection so I always recreated this event with them 3) I love the look of the Hoosier Dome 4) Got to love the neon sign on the entrance ramp! 5) A rare wrestlemania with the Heenan/Monsoon commentary team 6) Piper/Bret & Savage/Flair are classics 7) Although the main event was a little mediocre, I still love Warrior's return

I am not sure which is my favorite 'Mania, but this is definitely in the top 10, and probably somewhere in the top 5.

Up until like 2005 or so, WM8 was an absolute staple of everyone's Top 5 Manias. Since then and the format of Mania continued to shift away from that particular style of match-after-match-after-match it seems to get overlooked a lot, but it's stellar.
What I really love is just how well paced and watchable it is. While Savage-Flair *could* have gone on later or last and I'd never argue against it, the presentation and match order is just outstanding. Few, if any, Manias are more consistently watchable. Just throw it on and it's got you.

The first PPV I watched live (I still remember begging my parents to order it) and still probably my favorite WM. Flair vs. Savage was just perfection, and was a great finale to the rise, fall, and redemption of the Savage storyline dating back 4 years.
1992 was such a crazy year, not just what happened on TV but everything that happened behind the scenes that created the chaos.
Just this show alone:
- HBK vs. Marty was scrapped due to Marty being attested. - LOD vs Disasters scrapped due to Hawk being suspended and Lod Dropping the titles to Money Inc. at a house show. - Jake Roberts demanded his release before his match. - Flair/Hogan...probably the biggest “what if?” in WWF history. - Bret & Flair sneaking in blade jobs in their matches. Bret was better at it. - The botched Papa Shango run in which forced Sid to kick out of the leg drop. - Hogan, Piper, Roberts, and Sid pretty much all gone after this event.

Is Bret-Piper the best pre-match promo of all time? Like of promos immeadiately before the match? It adds SOOOOO much tot heir encounter!
Also, I loved Cena's callback to Bret-Piper in his Bray Wyatt match at Mania 30.

The show felt big and Heenan & Monsoon’s chemistry was off the charts. They were really trying to make some new stars with Bret beating Piper,HBK getting a showcase and Taker squashing Jake.Even Tito’s sister Arriba showed up.Only negatives for child me was I was so sick of Hogan & Warrior by that time and them false advertising the Miss Elizabeth nudes & Bulldog vs Berzerker.

Little me was there and I was mad about the Bezerker match not happening.

7 was my first Mania, but 8 was the first one I got to see live on PPV, and yeah, pretty much everything about it was perfect. Great card, great pacing, and Heenan/Monsoon turned in one of their finest performances ever. I still have my old, beat up PPV recording of this show to this day.

Wrestlemania 8 was the first I had on VHS as a kid so I have a massive soft spot for it. Looking back a lot of the matches aren’t that great but the characters involved and the personalities are off the chart.

I don’t know if it’s still my favorite WrestleMania ever, but it’s close. The World and IC title matches are amazing, the former especially to Heenan’s work on commentary, and Undertaker destroyed Jake Roberts in a manner that put him over huge.
Hogan/Sid was eh, but it wasn’t ever supposed to be a workrate match. The moment when Repo Man yells “one more time!” and got crotched in the eight-man match always got a laugh out of me.

I definitely like this show, but boy does it fall off quite a bit after the Savage match (oddly the same thing happened at 7 too). Through the intermission, it feels like it’s going to be the greatest Wrestlemania to date. But then it falls hard in the second half. Warrior’s return is cool, but as a kid that didn’t make up for the possibility that Hogan was going to retire.

I have a huge soft spot for it. It's one of the handful of Wrestlemania's I owned on tape. It's pretty much a two match card but both are fantastic. Plus you have Gorilla & The Brain with Bobby freaking out after Savage wins by cheating after Flair cheated the whole match. Great stuff.
