Honestly the only negative thing I have about it is the Main event itself.
Rest of it was a pretty solid show.

I think this WrestleMania may have been the only one with all the wrestlers having an action figure during the time period (not counting Jakks classics or Mattel). I think Hasbro produced all the guys during the four year run. That right there shows that all the guys had to be either top guys or upper mid card with a quality character people cared about and the toy wouldn't warm shelves. The original card was slightly different and I think that one may have been a little better but with things changing so drastically it still worked. I thought the random reason for the Macho/Flair feud was pretty silly but both guys along with Bobby Heenan, Gorilla and even Mr. Perfect made it work really well. Piper and Bret put on a very memorable match and both Piper and Jake Roberts did the job for two guys who would lead WWF into the next few years. Does anyone remember the Summerslam 1993 hotline where someone asked Undertaker about the mania match and Undertaker, completely in character, kept saying what sounded like "ice cream man"

I appreciate, because it was in the town I lived/still live in. To say Indianapolis can host WrestleMania once more is a bit of an understatement. When you host Final Fours, the Indy 500, the Super Bowl, and soon the College Football Championship & once more the NBA All-star Game, you got things covered. Sadly, WWE is Keen on rotating through the same locations.

Atmosphere reminded me of WM3. It looked great. But it needed Hogan vs Flair.

Sid attacking hogan while his music is still playing, hogan getting the comeback and then ripping the shirt while The music plays still gives me chills. Warriors clothesline to shango is still awesome

I have a huge soft spot for it. It's one of the handful of Wrestlemania's I owned on tape. It's pretty much a two match card but both are fantastic. Plus you have Gorilla & The Brain with Bobby freaking out after Savage wins by cheating after Flair cheated the whole match. Great stuff. I loved how every match after Flair vs. Savage, Monsoon tormented Heenan about Flair losing the World Title

My first ever Wrestlemania and to this day remains one of my favourite shows of all time. It just screams "big event"
It is the first Mania thats not cluttered up with a ton of filler bouts. Pretty much everything has meaning.
Savage/Flair Bret/Piper Sid/Hogan Snake/Roberts Money Inc/Disasters
All had great back stories going in.
Tito/HBK Tatanka/Martel
Both were good "passing of the torch" matches that didnt really need a back story
Then you have the 10 man tag and Owen/Skinner which were pretty much filler with no meaning but were there to give the crowd a break between the big matches
The Hoosier Dome looks fantastic, the commentary of Heenan and Monsoon is off the charts, the IC and World Title matches are two of the greatest ever and Warriors in to close the show is enough to give you goosebumps.
Just an all time great PPV IMO.

Here's a thing I loved about that: that was coming since Bobby brought the Big Gold Belt on Wrestling Challenge. It was much as Bobby's story as much it was Ric's.

It was probably one of the first PPVs I watched. I started watching in 1993 but would purchase many older events on VHS from Wembley Market. The cover itself sold the show you could tell it wasn't going to be a average Mania. The matches were great and the look of the Dome was cool especially earlier in the show. The backstage promos were really good obviously the Hart/Piper exchange and Ric Flair but even Beefcake and Sid Justice delivered.

Don't think it gets the credit it should due to the main event and not being Hogan vs Flair. Great show though.

I liked the set up with the ring on a platform. Big Event, WM III and VI were like this. Any idea why? I would think for the ring carts but Big Event didn't have the ring carts nor did WrestleMania VIII.

Hands-down my favorite Wrestlemania. I'm so glad to see other people warming up to it.

Atmosphere reminded me of WM3. It looked great. But it needed Hogan vs Flair. Same here, it reminded me of WrestleMania III. Sadly it wasn't a great time for the business and the talent pool had thinned considerably. A lot of guys who were very popular or had strong storylines going were either already gone or out the door by time WrestleMania VIII hit so it says a lot about the star power of the guys on the show, that they were able to help build a great WrestleMania with half the roster they normally had. I always feel bad for the guys cut from the show and in this case it was Berzerker and Bulldog. I could do without the Legion of Doom interview, save that for Superstars or tape it before the PPV and air it on Prime Time but I guess you have to explain why the former tag champs aren't on the show. A big win would have helped Bulldog who honestly had been floundering for a while but needed to be built up for the summer. And Berzerker was still strong and hadn't become a lower card JJTS yet. One thing I still wonder about is whose theme songs the 8 man tag guys came out to? I'm guessing the faces came out to Duggans or maybe Virgil and Bossman came out separately and then Slaughter and Duggan. And maybe the heels came out to Nasty Boys. It's also pretty interesting that WWF had two stadium shows back to back with Mania and Summerslam. I think that's a first and only time.

Can't really say enough good about this event. In my opinion a good wrestling card has a bit of something for everyone and this one sure nailed it.

I can't help but wonder how the show would have turned out with Hogan/Flair, Savage/Roberts, and Taker/Sid.
It sounds better on paper, but then you'd lose the best possible match combination of Flair/Savage and the markout moment of Warrior returning in the Hogan match.
